CVE-2026-13216 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-08-25 6.1 Medium
The virtio PCI driver (drivers/virtio/virtio_pci.c) parses a device's PCI capability list during driver initialization. In virtio_pci_read_cap() the device-supplied capability length byte cap_len (read from PCI config space via pcie_conf_read()) was only checked with assert(tmp.cap_len == cap_struct_size). That assert resolves to __ASSERT_NO_MSG(), gated by CONFIG_ASSERT, which defaults off in production builds, so the value reached the copy logic completely unvalidated. The length then drives a loop that copies extra capability dwords into a fixed-size stack buffer supplied by the caller. A cap_len below the 24-byte base struct virtio_pci_cap underflows the unsigned extra_data_words count to a near-SIZE_MAX value, producing an effectively unbounded stack write; a cap_len above the caller's buffer (up to 255) writes up to roughly 228 bytes of device-controlled data past the buffer. Both are out-of-bounds writes of attacker-controlled content executed in kernel mode during boot-time device probe. The input originates from the virtio device. In the common deployment where Zephyr runs as a guest under a hypervisor, the device backend is the host, which already fully outranks the guest, so the bug yields no privilege escalation. The exploitable case is a virtio device that is untrusted relative to the Zephyr kernel — an untrusted or physical/passthrough virtio PCIe device on a bare-metal system, or a confidential-computing posture where the guest must defend against the host — where a malicious device can corrupt the kernel stack and potentially achieve code execution or a crash. The fix replaces the compiled-out assert with a runtime range check rejecting cap_len outside [sizeof(struct virtio_pci_cap), cap_struct_size] before any arithmetic or copy.
CVE-2026-71382 1 Adobe 1 Substance 3d Sampler 2026-08-25 7.8 High
Substance3D - Sampler is affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
CVE-2026-59984 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions 3.1.0 through 3.2.10, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable on ILP32 builds to an out-of-bounds write. When a crafted B44-compressed scanline EXR causes the logical scratch size to truncate before allocation and uncompress_b44_impl() writes using the attacker-controlled channel width, allowing denial of service and memory corruption. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.
CVE-2026-59186 1 Academysoftwarefoundation 1 Openexr 2026-08-25 7.1 High
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, a crafted tiled EXR can trigger a heap out-of-bounds write on 32-bit/ILP32 builds when read through the public TiledRgbaInputFile RGBA API. The file uses a small 40x40 dataWindow but a 65537x65537 tile size. On ILP32, the Array2D<Rgba> tile-conversion buffer size calculation overflows, allocates a much smaller heap buffer, and tile decode writes past that allocation. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.
CVE-2026-55581 1 Sonirico 1 Mcp-shell 2026-08-25 8.4 High
mcp-shell is an MCP server for running shell commands securely, auditably, and on demand. Prior to 0.6.0, the default Docker security.yaml includes /bin/bash in allowed_executables, while security.go validates only the first token and checkBlockedPatternsAndCommands does not reject the shell command-mode flag -c. A caller of the shell_exec MCP tool can provide the command argument `/bin/bash -c <arbitrary-command>`, which passes validation and reaches executor.go, where parseCommand and exec.CommandContext execute the arbitrary command as mcpuser outside the intended allowlist. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.0.
CVE-2026-18842 1 Ibm 3 Aix, Powervm Vios, Vios 2026-08-25 8.4 High
IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges due to an out-of-bounds write.
CVE-2021-4090 2 Linux, Netapp 17 Linux Kernel, H300e, H300e Firmware and 14 more 2026-08-25 7.1 High
An out-of-bounds (OOB) memory write flaw was found in the NFSD in the Linux kernel. Missing sanity may lead to a write beyond bmval[bmlen-1] in nfsd4_decode_bitmap4 in fs/nfsd/nfs4xdr.c. In this flaw, a local attacker with user privilege may gain access to out-of-bounds memory, leading to a system integrity and confidentiality threat.
CVE-2026-71905 1 Draytek 12 Vigorap 1060c, Vigorap 1060c Firmware, Vigorap 903 and 9 more 2026-08-25 7.2 High
Multiple DrayTek VigorAP models contain a command injection vulnerability in the ExportSettings function. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient filtering of the backupkey, backuptype, and realtime fields before command execution. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface.
CVE-2026-64204 1 Ni 1 Labview 2026-08-25 7.8 High
There is a memory corruption vulnerability recently discovered in NI LabVIEW that may result in information disclosure or arbitrary code execution.  Successful exploitation requires an attacker to get a user to open a specially crafted VI.  This vulnerability affects NI LabVIEW 2026 Q3 (26.3.0) and prior versions.
CVE-2026-59187 2026-08-25 7.1 High
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable to a heap out-of-bounds write when exrmetrics reads a crafted deep scanline EXR. This occurs with pixel conversion options such as --pixelmode float or --bench because DeepSlice requests FLOAT output while the backing sample buffers are allocated using the input HALF element size. The issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14.
CVE-2026-16233 1 Ni 1 Labview 2026-08-25 7.8 High
There is a memory corruption vulnerability recently discovered in NI LabVIEW that may result in information disclosure or arbitrary code execution.  Successful exploitation requires an attacker to get a user to open a specially crafted VI.  This vulnerability affects NI LabVIEW 2026 Q3 (26.3.0) and prior versions.
CVE-2026-55580 1 Sonirico 1 Mcp-shell 2026-08-25 N/A
mcp-shell is an MCP server for running shell commands securely, auditably, and on demand. Prior to 0.6.0, config.go initializes Security.Enabled to false, and when MCP_SHELL_SEC_CONFIG_FILE is unset, main.go starts the documented bare-binary deployment without a security policy. SecurityValidator.validateCommand in security.go then short-circuits and allows every command supplied to the shell_exec MCP tool, so an LLM connected over stdio can execute unrestricted OS commands as the mcp-shell process user. The README from-source installation and MCP client configuration omit MCP_SHELL_SEC_CONFIG_FILE, making the insecure state the documented default. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.0.
CVE-2026-57998 1 Jeemok 1 Better-npm-audit 2026-08-25 7.8 High
better-npm-audit through 3.11.0, and the 4.0.0-rc.2 prerelease, builds its npm audit command by interpolating the user-supplied --registry option into a command string in src/handlers/handleInput.ts without validation or quoting, then passes that string to child_process.exec() in index.ts, which spawns a shell. A registry value containing shell metacharacters such as a semicolon, pipe, or command substitution executes arbitrary operating system commands with the privileges of the process running the audit.
CVE-2026-63072 1 Openssl 1 Openssl 2026-08-25 7.5 High
Issue summary: OpenSSL CMS decryption sizes the key-unwrap output buffer based on querying the unwrapped key size, but the AES-WRAP-PAD unwrap primitive can write and cleanse more bytes than that query reports, causing an 8-byte out-of-bounds heap write. Impact summary: An attacker who supplies a crafted CMS message can trigger a deterministic 8-byte out-of-bounds heap write when the victim decrypts it with CMS_decrypt(), corrupting the heap and typically resulting in a Denial of Service. CWE: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write Description: The key-wrap OID is potentially attacker-controlled on the wire. CMS unwrapping allows both id-aesNNN-wrap-pad and id-aesNNN-wrap ciphers. An attacker can take a legitimate message and change a single OID byte to select the padded variant while leaving the message otherwise valid. Since the unwrap key is derived from the recipient's private operation (ECDH key agreement or ML-KEM decapsulation), the RFC 5649 integrity check cannot pass, and the decryption fails with integrity failure. The write is a fixed-size (8-byte), fixed-value (zero) heap overflow immediately past the allocation, requires no special configuration, and is reachable from the public CMS_decrypt() function. The consequence is a heap corruption leading to a Denial of Service. The fix in the CMS code sizes the unwrap output buffer for the worst case so a failed unwrap cannot write past the allocation. FIPS impact: no As the CMS code lives outside the FIPS module boundary, no FIPS modules are affected by this CVE.
CVE-2026-77236 2 Amazon, Freertos 2 Freertos, Freertos-kernel 2026-08-25 7.3 High
Missing minimum size validation in secure context allocation in FreeRTOS-Kernel before 11.3.1 might allow local users to corrupt secure-world heap metadata via an out-of-bounds write with an undersized stack size parameter. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 11.3.1 or later.
CVE-2026-72852 1 Hank-ai 1 Darknet 2026-08-25 7.8 High
hank-ai/darknet sizes a convolutional layer's weight and output heap buffers by multiplying configuration fields taken from a .cfg file in unchecked 32-bit int arithmetic. In src-lib/convolutional_layer.cpp, l.nweights is computed as (c / groups) * n * size * size and l.outputs as l.out_h * l.out_w * l.out_c, and both feed xcalloc directly. A .cfg whose true dimension product exceeds INT_MAX wraps to a small or zero value, so the allocation is undersized; for example width and height of 256 with filters of 65536 gives 2^32, which wraps to 0. forward_convolutional_layer then re-derives the GEMM dimensions with a different operand order, computing k as l.size*l.size*l.c / l.groups where the allocation divided before multiplying, and reads and writes through the undersized buffer. Loading the crafted .cfg for inference or training is sufficient and no valid .weights file is required. The reported proof of concept observed a heap buffer overflow read in gemm_nn_fast under AddressSanitizer and glibc allocator metadata corruption in a release build of the same input, indicating an out-of-bounds write.
CVE-2026-63387 1 Libevent Project 1 Libevent 2026-08-25 7 High
Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has an off-by-one stack buffer overflow in evdns.c when dnsname_to_labels formats a name-bearing DNS record at the end of the 64 KB stack buffer allocated by evdns_server_request_format_response. The final-label check permits j plus label_len plus one to equal buf_len, after which the terminating null byte is written to buf[buf_len]. A crafted DNS server response containing PTR, CNAME, MX, NS, or SOA data can trigger the one-byte out-of-bounds write and crash or corrupt the process. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha.
CVE-2025-71407 1 Nokogiri 1 Nokogiri 2026-08-25 9.8 Critical
Nokogiri before 1.18.3 contains a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in libxml2 when reporting DTD validation errors with long QName prefixes, and a use-after-free vulnerability during validation against untrusted XML Schemas. Attackers can trigger these vulnerabilities by providing malicious DTD content or untrusted XSD files to cause denial of service or potential code execution.
CVE-2026-17497 2 Codexu, Notegen 2 Notegen, Notegen 2026-08-25 8.3 High
NoteGen before 0.32.0 grants the Tauri shell plugin shell:allow-execute capability for bash, python, and python3 with arbitrary arguments in the default desktop capabilities. JavaScript running in the application webview can therefore invoke plugin:shell|execute to run attacker-controlled operating system commands with the privileges of the NoteGen process. In combination with script execution in the webview (for example via chat XSS), this enables full remote code execution on the user's machine.
CVE-2026-77084 1 N8n 1 N8n 2026-08-25 N/A
n8n before 1.123.69 (and 2.x before 2.33.4 / 2.34.1) contains a code execution vulnerability in the Git node. The Git node executed certain repository-local git configuration values without neutralizing them, so any subsequent Git node operation against a repository containing a malicious value would execute it as the n8n process user. This is not reachable through the Git node's own configuration controls and requires a separate file-write vulnerability elsewhere to plant the malicious value.
