The vulnerability is possible because the dashboard table renderer does not sufficiently restrict tooltip options or escape tooltip content before display.

The object can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of another authenticated user who visits a standard Splunk Web page. The JavaScript could expose all relevant data and affect system integrity within the second user permissions. The Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web resolves auto-tour entries from the app namespace and uses untrusted tour content when building the tour image.

The Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web renders tour content and tour navigation links without sufficient output encoding and accepts a tour selector value that can be treated as markup. The vulnerability requires another user to open a crafted tour link. The user who holds the "power" Splunk role should not be able to trigger JavaScript execution in another user's browser without that user interaction.

When another user opens the crafted link, the script runs in the browser of that user and could access all data available to that user. The vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web uses the alert threshold value in generated alert trigger condition markup without escaping special characters. Successful exploitation requires another user to open the crafted link. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the affected user by tricking them into initiating a request within their browser. The unauthenticated user should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will.

The vulnerability allows the unauthorised generation of physical access QR codes due to the use of hard-coded credentials within the application. The generation mechanism uses the 'badge_number' parameter as the HMAC private key, the value of which remains static and is accessible via the API using the endpoint '/club/_id_club_/member/_id_member_/resamania_qr_info'. An attacker with access to this value and to the application’s cryptographic logic, which can be extracted by reverse engineering the APK as there is no code obfuscation, could generate valid QR codes indefinitely, even after the user has changed their password or logged out.

Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (XSS) vulnerability in team-alembic AshAuthentication allows reflected cross-site scripting via the confirmation and magic link interaction forms. When a strategy is configured with require_interaction? set to true, AshAuthentication serves an intermediate HTML page asking the user to confirm the action by submitting a form. Both such pages embed a request parameter directly into a hidden input's value attribute without HTML escaping: lib/ash_authentication/add_ons/confirmation/confirmation_form.html.eex interpolates the confirm parameter, and lib/ash_authentication/strategies/magic_link/sign_in_form.html.eex interpolates the magic link token parameter. These templates are compiled with EEx.function_from_file/3 using plain <%= %> expressions, which perform no escaping, so the parameter is reflected verbatim. Neither accept handler validates the value before rendering it. AshAuthentication.AddOn.Confirmation.Plug.accept/2 only checks that a confirm key is present, and AshAuthentication.Strategy.MagicLink.Plug.accept/2 reads the parameter directly, so no token signature is verified at this stage and arbitrary attacker-supplied text reaches the template. An unauthenticated attacker can therefore craft a URL whose parameter terminates the attribute and injects markup, for example a quote followed by a <script> element. Because the accept phase is served over GET, loading the crafted link is sufficient; no form submission or prior authentication is required. The injected script executes in the origin of the application embedding AshAuthentication, giving it access to that origin's cookies, session, and same-origin responses. Since these pages are part of the authentication flow, a victim following what appears to be a legitimate confirmation or sign-in link is a plausible target. This issue affects ash_authentication: from 4.8.0 before 4.14.2 and from 5.0.0-rc.0 before 5.0.0-rc.13.
