| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: krb5 - use kfree_sensitive() for derived key buffers
crypto_krb5_prepare_encryption() and crypto_krb5_prepare_checksum()
free the buffer holding the freshly derived keys with plain kfree(),
leaving the key material behind in the freed slab object. |

This issue is applicable to PAN-OS software on PA-Series and VM-Series firewalls and on Panorama (virtual and M-Series).

| A command injection vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS® software enables an authenticated administrator to bypass system restrictions and run arbitrary commands as a root user. To be able to exploit this issue, the user must have access to the PAN-OS CLI and the device must be configured with a Luna Hardware Security Module (HSM).
The security risk posed by this issue is significantly minimized when CLI access is restricted to a limited group of administrators.
Panorama, Cloud NGFW, and Prisma® Access are not impacted by this vulnerability. |

| Previously, a channel registered in the mux's chanList is not usable until it is established. A malicious peer was able flood the channel's incomingRequests, deadlocking the entire connection. Now, we add an atomic established state, set when a channel becomes usable. Until such a time, handlePacket drops every packet other than the open confirmation/failure, without blocking and without tearing down the connection. |
