CVE-2025-39713 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: rainshadow-cec: fix TOCTOU race condition in rain_interrupt() In the interrupt handler rain_interrupt(), the buffer full check on rain->buf_len is performed before acquiring rain->buf_lock. This creates a Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) race condition, as rain->buf_len is concurrently accessed and modified in the work handler rain_irq_work_handler() under the same lock. Multiple interrupt invocations can race, with each reading buf_len before it becomes full and then proceeding. This can lead to both interrupts attempting to write to the buffer, incrementing buf_len beyond its capacity (DATA_SIZE) and causing a buffer overflow. Fix this bug by moving the spin_lock() to before the buffer full check. This ensures that the check and the subsequent buffer modification are performed atomically, preventing the race condition. An corresponding spin_unlock() is added to the overflow path to correctly release the lock. This possible bug was found by an experimental static analysis tool developed by our team.
CVE-2025-38681 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/ptdump: take the memory hotplug lock inside ptdump_walk_pgd() Memory hot remove unmaps and tears down various kernel page table regions as required. The ptdump code can race with concurrent modifications of the kernel page tables. When leaf entries are modified concurrently, the dump code may log stale or inconsistent information for a VA range, but this is otherwise not harmful. But when intermediate levels of kernel page table are freed, the dump code will continue to use memory that has been freed and potentially reallocated for another purpose. In such cases, the ptdump code may dereference bogus addresses, leading to a number of potential problems. To avoid the above mentioned race condition, platforms such as arm64, riscv and s390 take memory hotplug lock, while dumping kernel page table via the sysfs interface /sys/kernel/debug/kernel_page_tables. Similar race condition exists while checking for pages that might have been marked W+X via /sys/kernel/debug/kernel_page_tables/check_wx_pages which in turn calls ptdump_check_wx(). Instead of solving this race condition again, let's just move the memory hotplug lock inside generic ptdump_check_wx() which will benefit both the scenarios. Drop get_online_mems() and put_online_mems() combination from all existing platform ptdump code paths.
CVE-2025-38312 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: core: fbcvt: avoid division by 0 in fb_cvt_hperiod() In fb_find_mode_cvt(), iff mode->refresh somehow happens to be 0x80000000, cvt.f_refresh will become 0 when multiplying it by 2 due to overflow. It's then passed to fb_cvt_hperiod(), where it's used as a divider -- division by 0 will result in kernel oops. Add a sanity check for cvt.f_refresh to avoid such overflow... Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the Svace static analysis tool.
CVE-2025-31115 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-05-12 7.5 High
XZ Utils provide a general-purpose data-compression library plus command-line tools. In XZ Utils 5.3.3alpha to 5.8.0, the multithreaded .xz decoder in liblzma has a bug where invalid input can at least result in a crash. The effects include heap use after free and writing to an address based on the null pointer plus an offset. Applications and libraries that use the lzma_stream_decoder_mt function are affected. The bug has been fixed in XZ Utils 5.8.1, and the fix has been committed to the v5.4, v5.6, v5.8, and master branches in the xz Git repository. No new release packages will be made from the old stable branches, but a standalone patch is available that applies to all affected releases.
CVE-2024-57913 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: f_fs: Remove WARN_ON in functionfs_bind This commit addresses an issue related to below kernel panic where panic_on_warn is enabled. It is caused by the unnecessary use of WARN_ON in functionsfs_bind, which easily leads to the following scenarios. 1.adb_write in adbd 2. UDC write via configfs ================= ===================== ->usb_ffs_open_thread() ->UDC write ->open_functionfs() ->configfs_write_iter() ->adb_open() ->gadget_dev_desc_UDC_store() ->adb_write() ->usb_gadget_register_driver_owner ->driver_register() ->StartMonitor() ->bus_add_driver() ->adb_read() ->gadget_bind_driver() <times-out without BIND event> ->configfs_composite_bind() ->usb_add_function() ->open_functionfs() ->ffs_func_bind() ->adb_open() ->functionfs_bind() <ffs->state !=FFS_ACTIVE> The adb_open, adb_read, and adb_write operations are invoked from the daemon, but trying to bind the function is a process that is invoked by UDC write through configfs, which opens up the possibility of a race condition between the two paths. In this race scenario, the kernel panic occurs due to the WARN_ON from functionfs_bind when panic_on_warn is enabled. This commit fixes the kernel panic by removing the unnecessary WARN_ON. CVE-2024-50205 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: firewire-lib: Avoid division by zero in apply_constraint_to_size() The step variable is initialized to zero. It is changed in the loop, but if it's not changed it will remain zero. Add a variable check before the division. The observed behavior was introduced by commit 826b5de90c0b ("ALSA: firewire-lib: fix insufficient PCM rule for period/buffer size"), and it is difficult to show that any of the interval parameters will satisfy the snd_interval_test() condition with data from the amdtp_rate_table[] table. CVE-2024-50010 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: exec: don't WARN for racy path_noexec check Both i_mode and noexec checks wrapped in WARN_ON stem from an artifact of the previous implementation. They used to legitimately check for the condition, but that got moved up in two commits: 633fb6ac3980 ("exec: move S_ISREG() check earlier") 0fd338b2d2cd ("exec: move path_noexec() check earlier") Instead of being removed said checks are WARN_ON'ed instead, which has some debug value. However, the spurious path_noexec check is racy, resulting in unwarranted warnings should someone race with setting the noexec flag. One can note there is more to perm-checking whether execve is allowed and none of the conditions are guaranteed to still hold after they were tested for. Additionally this does not validate whether the code path did any perm checking to begin with -- it will pass if the inode happens to be regular. Keep the redundant path_noexec() check even though it's mindless nonsense checking for guarantee that isn't given so drop the WARN. Reword the commentary and do small tidy ups while here. [brauner: keep redundant path_noexec() check]
CVE-2024-49977 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: Fix zero-division error when disabling tc cbs The commit b8c43360f6e4 ("net: stmmac: No need to calculate speed divider when offload is disabled") allows the "port_transmit_rate_kbps" to be set to a value of 0, which is then passed to the "div_s64" function when tc-cbs is disabled. This leads to a zero-division error. When tc-cbs is disabled, the idleslope, sendslope, and credit values the credit values are not required to be configured. Therefore, adding a return statement after setting the txQ mode to DCB when tc-cbs is disabled would prevent a zero-division error.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Initialize get_bytes_per_element's default to 1 Variables, used as denominators and maybe not assigned to other values, should not be 0. bytes_per_element_y & bytes_per_element_c are initialized by get_bytes_per_element() which should never return 0. This fixes 10 DIVIDE_BY_ZERO issues reported by Coverity.
CVE-2024-47660 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fsnotify: clear PARENT_WATCHED flags lazily In some setups directories can have many (usually negative) dentries. Hence __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() function can take a significant amount of time. Since the bulk of this function happens under inode->i_lock this causes a significant contention on the lock when we remove the watch from the directory as the __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() call from fsnotify_recalc_mask() races with __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() calls from __fsnotify_parent() happening on children. This can lead upto softlockup reports reported by users. Fix the problem by calling fsnotify_update_children_dentry_flags() to set PARENT_WATCHED flags only when parent starts watching children. When parent stops watching children, clear false positive PARENT_WATCHED flags lazily in __fsnotify_parent() for each accessed child.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: core: check uartclk for zero to avoid divide by zero Calling ioctl TIOCSSERIAL with an invalid baud_base can result in uartclk being zero, which will result in a divide by zero error in uart_get_divisor(). The check for uartclk being zero in uart_set_info() needs to be done before other settings are made as subsequent calls to ioctl TIOCSSERIAL for the same port would be impacted if the uartclk check was done where uartclk gets set. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix data races in unix_release_sock/unix_stream_sendmsg A data-race condition has been identified in af_unix. In one data path, the write function unix_release_sock() atomically writes to sk->sk_shutdown using WRITE_ONCE. However, on the reader side, unix_stream_sendmsg() does not read it atomically. Consequently, this issue is causing the following KCSAN splat to occur: BUG: KCSAN: data-race in unix_release_sock / unix_stream_sendmsg write (marked) to 0xffff88867256ddbb of 1 bytes by task 7270 on cpu 28: unix_release_sock (net/unix/af_unix.c:640) unix_release (net/unix/af_unix.c:1050) sock_close (net/socket.c:659 net/socket.c:1421) __fput (fs/file_table.c:422) __fput_sync (fs/file_table.c:508) __se_sys_close (fs/open.c:1559 fs/open.c:1541) __x64_sys_close (fs/open.c:1541) x64_sys_call (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:33) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/common.c:?) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) read to 0xffff88867256ddbb of 1 bytes by task 989 on cpu 14: unix_stream_sendmsg (net/unix/af_unix.c:2273) __sock_sendmsg (net/socket.c:730 net/socket.c:745) ____sys_sendmsg (net/socket.c:2584) __sys_sendmmsg (net/socket.c:2638 net/socket.c:2724) __x64_sys_sendmmsg (net/socket.c:2753 net/socket.c:2750 net/socket.c:2750) x64_sys_call (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:33) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/common.c:?) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) value changed: 0x01 -> 0x03 The line numbers are related to commit dd5a440a31fa ("Linux 6.9-rc7"). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: defer shutdown(SEND_SHUTDOWN) for TCP_SYN_RECV sockets TCP_SYN_RECV state is really special, it is only used by cross-syn connections, mostly used by fuzzers. In the following crash [1], syzbot managed to trigger a divide by zero in tcp_rcv_space_adjust() A socket makes the following state transitions, without ever calling tcp_init_transfer(), meaning tcp_init_buffer_space() is also not called. TCP_CLOSE connect() TCP_SYN_SENT TCP_SYN_RECV shutdown() -> tcp_shutdown(sk, SEND_SHUTDOWN) TCP_FIN_WAIT1 To fix this issue, change tcp_shutdown() to not perform a TCP_SYN_RECV -> TCP_FIN_WAIT1 transition, which makes no sense anyway. When tcp_rcv_state_process() later changes socket state from TCP_SYN_RECV to TCP_ESTABLISH, then look at sk->sk_shutdown to finally enter TCP_FIN_WAIT1 state, and send a FIN packet from a sane socket state. This means tcp_send_fin() can now be called from BH context, and must use GFP_ATOMIC allocations. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpiolib: cdev: Fix use after free in lineinfo_changed_notify The use-after-free issue occurs as follows: when the GPIO chip device file is being closed by invoking gpio_chrdev_release(), watched_lines is freed by bitmap_free(), but the unregistration of lineinfo_changed_nb notifier chain failed due to waiting write rwsem. Additionally, one of the GPIO chip's lines is also in the release process and holds the notifier chain's read rwsem. Consequently, a race condition leads to the use-after-free of watched_lines. Here is the typical stack when issue happened: [free] gpio_chrdev_release() --> bitmap_free(cdev->watched_lines) <-- freed --> blocking_notifier_chain_unregister() --> down_write(&nh->rwsem) <-- waiting rwsem --> __down_write_common() --> rwsem_down_write_slowpath() --> schedule_preempt_disabled() --> schedule() [use] st54spi_gpio_dev_release() --> gpio_free() --> gpiod_free() --> gpiod_free_commit() --> gpiod_line_state_notify() --> blocking_notifier_call_chain() --> down_read(&nh->rwsem); <-- held rwsem --> notifier_call_chain() --> lineinfo_changed_notify() --> test_bit(xxxx, cdev->watched_lines) <-- use after free The side effect of the use-after-free issue is that a GPIO line event is being generated for userspace where it shouldn't. However, since the chrdev is being closed, userspace won't have the chance to read that event anyway. To fix the issue, call the bitmap_free() function after the unregistration of lineinfo_changed_nb notifier chain.

It is necessary to add a check to avoid division by zero. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Svace.
CVE-2024-35922 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbmon: prevent division by zero in fb_videomode_from_videomode() The expression htotal * vtotal can have a zero value on overflow. It is necessary to prevent division by zero like in fb_var_to_videomode(). Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Svace.
CVE-2024-27419 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netrom: Fix data-races around sysctl_net_busy_read We need to protect the reader reading the sysctl value because the value can be changed concurrently.
CVE-2024-27059 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat 3 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: usb-storage: Prevent divide-by-0 error in isd200_ata_command The isd200 sub-driver in usb-storage uses the HEADS and SECTORS values in the ATA ID information to calculate cylinder and head values when creating a CDB for READ or WRITE commands. The calculation involves division and modulus operations, which will cause a crash if either of these values is 0. While this never happens with a genuine device, it could happen with a flawed or subversive emulation, as reported by the syzbot fuzzer. Protect against this possibility by refusing to bind to the device if either the ATA_ID_HEADS or ATA_ID_SECTORS value in the device's ID information is 0. This requires isd200_Initialization() to return a negative error code when initialization fails; currently it always returns 0 (even when there is an error).
