CVSS v3.1 |
| Nokogiri versions before 1.19.3 contain a memory leak in the XSLT Stylesheet transform method when processing Ruby strings containing null bytes. Attackers can exploit this by passing attacker-controlled input with null bytes to transform parameters, causing heap allocations to leak and enabling denial of service against long-running processes. |
| PraisonAI is a multi-agent teams system. Prior to praisonai 4.6.58, the MCP HTTP Stream mcp_post handler creates a new _sessions entry for every initialize request but does not call _cleanup_sessions or enforce a maximum. An unauthenticated caller can exhaust memory. The fix invokes cleanup and limits sessions through PRAISONAI_MCP_MAX_SESSIONS. This issue is fixed in version 4.6.58. |
| Issue summary: The OpenSSL Certificate Management Protocol (CMP) caches
additional certificates (extraCerts) sent in a CMP message, but never expunges
them (for instance if they are invalid). If a server reuses an OSSL_CMP_CTX
frequently, this cache of extraCerts may grow unboundedly, and a malicious
client may flood a CMP server with requests driving this growth.
Impact summary: Users utilizing a CMP server that reuses a single OSSL_CMP_CTX
for the lifetime of a server process may observe unbounded memory growth in the
event a malicious client repeatedly sends requests containing unique extra
certificates, which may lead to OOM conditions.
CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling
Description: If a remote user sends CMP messages to a server with a list of
extraCerts and the message is rejected, the extraCerts from the message remains
in the server contexts untrusted certificate stack. This exposes servers with
long lived ctx objects to Denial of Service attacks in which an attacker sends
messages intending to be rejected with a large list of additional certificates
repeatedly, forcing the server to store them indefinitely.
The issue was fixed by removing the added extra certs if the message is
rejected, using the same method as when the context is configured to not do
caching at all.
FIPS impact: no
As the CMP code lives outside the FIPS module boundary, no FIPS
modules are affected by this CVE. |
| Issue summary: When OpenSSL processes QUIC traffic from a peer that repeatedly
sends ack-eliciting packets while not acknowledging ACK-only responses, the
QUIC stack can retain ACK-only packet metadata for the lifetime of the
connection.
Impact summary: A remote peer that can complete a QUIC handshake can
cause connection-scoped memory growth which may lead to Denial of Service
through memory exhaustion, especially with sustained traffic or many concurrent
QUIC connections.
CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling
Description: When the OpenSSL QUIC stack sends an ACK-only packet,
there is no requirement by the QUIC protocol that the peer will acknowledge
that ACK-only packet (i.e. it is itself not ack-eliciting). However, the OpenSSL
implementation stores the metadata about the ACK frames regardless.
In and of itself that's ok, but if a malicious peer establishes a connection, and
then drives the connection such that ACK-only packets are forced from the
OpenSSL implementation peer (i.e., by sending numerous PING frames),
and then withholding any subsequent acks for ack-eliciting data, like
legitimate data, said malicious peer can force inappropriate memory growth
on the OpenSSL peer, potentially leading to a Denial of Service.
The fix is to ensure that we account for the transmission of the ACK-only
packet in the packet histories high and low watermark without actually storing
the ACK-only packet metadata itself.
FIPS impact: no
The OpenSSL FIPS module is not affected as the QUIC code is
outside the FIPS module boundary. |
| When reading a specially crafted ZIP archive, or a derived formats, an Apache Ant build can be made to allocate large amounts of memory that leads to an out of memory error, even for small inputs. This can be used to disrupt builds using Apache Ant. Commonly used derived formats from ZIP archives are for instance JAR files and many office files. Apache Ant prior to 1.9.16 and 1.10.11 were affected. |
| When reading a specially crafted TAR archive an Apache Ant build can be made to allocate large amounts of memory that finally leads to an out of memory error, even for small inputs. This can be used to disrupt builds using Apache Ant. Apache Ant prior to 1.9.16 and 1.10.11 were affected. |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to improper validation of an array size field. |
| Ghidra before 12.1.3 contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in the PDB parser that allows attackers to terminate the Ghidra process by supplying a crafted PDB file with an oversized parameters section. The AbstractPdb deserialization routine reads all remaining parameters into an unbounded list, causing uncontrolled heap growth that triggers an OutOfMemoryError which bypasses exception handling and crashes the application. |
| libgit2 is a portable C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a linkable library with a solid API, allowing to build Git functionality into your application. Prior to 1.8.6 and 1.9.5, git_delta_apply in src/libgit2/delta.c trusts the attacker-controlled res_sz value parsed by hdr_sz from a delta object header and passes that amount to git__malloc before validating delta instructions. Malicious pack data supplied through git_clone, git_fetch, git_remote_fetch, git_indexer_append, or a local attacker-supplied repository can use a very small multi-level OFS_DELTA chain to retain extremely large allocations and exhaust memory. This issue is fixed in versions 1.8.6 and 1.9.5. |
| Denial-of-service in the Widget component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 154, Firefox ESR 153.1, Thunderbird 154, and Thunderbird 153.1. |
| A flaw was found in libdm. A local attacker could craft a malicious Logical Volume Manager (LVM) metadata configuration with deeply nested structures. This could lead to uncontrolled recursion in the libdm configuration file parser, exhausting the stack and causing any LVM command reading the metadata to crash. This vulnerability results in a Denial of Service (DoS) for affected systems. |
| A flaw was found in FreeIPA. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending oversized form POST requests to the `/ipa/migration/migration.py` endpoint. This can force the migration handler to read attacker-controlled request bodies fully into memory, leading to increased memory usage, slower request handling, and potential service disruption or denial of service. |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to improper validation of an allocation size. |
| vLLM is an inference and serving engine for large language models (LLMs). From 0.1.0 to before 0.19.0, a Denial of Service vulnerability exists in the vLLM OpenAI-compatible API server. Due to the lack of an upper bound validation on the n parameter in the ChatCompletionRequest and CompletionRequest Pydantic models, an unauthenticated attacker can send a single HTTP request with an astronomically large n value. This completely blocks the Python asyncio event loop and causes immediate Out-Of-Memory crashes by allocating millions of request object copies in the heap before the request even reaches the scheduling queue. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.19.0. |
| vLLM is an inference and serving engine for large language models (LLMs). From 0.7.0 to before 0.19.0, the VideoMediaIO.load_base64() method at vllm/multimodal/media/video.py splits video/jpeg data URLs by comma to extract individual JPEG frames, but does not enforce a frame count limit. The num_frames parameter (default: 32), which is enforced by the load_bytes() code path, is completely bypassed in the video/jpeg base64 path. An attacker can send a single API request containing thousands of comma-separated base64-encoded JPEG frames, causing the server to decode all frames into memory and crash with OOM. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.19.0. |
| AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Versions 3.13.2 and below allow a zip bomb to be used to execute a DoS against the AIOHTTP server. An attacker may be able to send a compressed request that when decompressed by AIOHTTP could exhaust the host's memory. This issue is fixed in version 3.13.3. |
| Checkmate is an open-source, self-hosted tool designed to track and monitor server hardware, uptime, response times, and incidents in real-time with beautiful visualizations. Prior to 3.9.1, the public POST /api/v1/auth/register route in server/src/api/routes/authRoutes.ts passes multipart profileImage uploads through in-memory Multer parsing before registration validation, without file-size, file-count, or MIME-type limits in server/src/api/middleware/upload.ts. An unauthenticated attacker can submit concurrent oversized files that are buffered before invalid registration or invite-token checks reject the request, exhausting memory and crashing or destabilizing the backend. This issue is fixed in version 3.9.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vhost_iotlb: bound map allocation in add_range
vhost_iotlb_add_range_ctx() only retires an old entry when the table
has a non-zero limit, has exactly reached that limit and has
VHOST_IOTLB_FLAG_RETIRE set. Non-retiring tables can keep allocating
entries after reaching their configured limit.
Existing vhost devices allocate their IOTLB with max_iotlb_entries from
vhost.c, which defaults to 2048 and is tunable by module parameter. Use
the caller-provided limit at the allocation point instead of adding a
separate default in the common IOTLB helper, and reject non-positive
values in vhost paths that can report an error.
Other vhost IOTLB users should not create zero-limit tables when entries
can be populated from userspace or guest-controlled requests. Add
caller-side max_iotlb_entries parameters for mlx5 vDPA, VDUSE and
vhost-vDPA. Reject non-positive VDUSE and vhost-vDPA values, and require
at least two entries for vdpa_sim and mlx5 vDPA paths that install
full-range mappings, since those mappings are split into two IOTLB
entries.
Handle full-range mappings in the common helper by checking that the
IOTLB can hold both split entries before inserting the first half. This
avoids returning an error after leaving a half mapping behind.
When the table is full, keep the existing retire behavior for retiring
tables and return -ENOSPC for non-retiring tables. Reuse the retired map
node instead of freeing it and allocating a replacement, so a stream of
IOTLB updates cannot keep forcing GFP_ATOMIC allocations after the table
has reached its limit. If a zero-limit IOTLB still reaches the common
helper, treat it as a configuration error and return -EINVAL.
I found this bug myself, though the patch was written with AI assistance. |
| A denial-of-service and resource exhaustion vulnerability exists within the `GDBus` component of GLib. The `gdbusauth` authentication mechanism fails to enforce proper length limitations on data lines read from a client. An unauthenticated local or remote attacker can exploit this lack of input validation by sending excessively long streams of data, causing the application to consume massive amounts of system memory and CPU, potentially leading to a crash or system hang. |
| Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From 3.9.0 until 4.14.5 and 5.0.0-beta2, the Wazuh cluster protocol in framework/wazuh/core/cluster/common.py allows an authenticated cluster node to exhaust memory on the master. The receive_str() method accepts an attacker-controlled total for InBuffer without a maximum, so a new_str command can request a multi-gigabyte bytearray and repeated requests accumulate in in_str. The divided-message path also retains flag_divided fragments under unique counters in div_msg_box without a count, aggregate-size, or expiration limit. Exploitation can disrupt agent connectivity and alert processing across the monitored environment. This issue is fixed in versions 4.14.5 and 5.0.0-beta2. |
