CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: prevent path traversal bypass by restricting caseless retry
ksmbd_vfs_path_lookup() enforces LOOKUP_BENEATH to restrict path
resolution within the share root. When a crafted path attempts to
escape the share boundary using parent-directory components ('..'),
vfs_path_parent_lookup() detects this and immediately fails,
returning -EXDEV.
However, a bug exists in __ksmbd_vfs_kern_path() under caseless mode.
The function fails to intercept the -EXDEV error and erroneously
falls through to the caseless retry logic, which is intended only
for genuinely missing files. During this retry process, the path
is reconstructed, leading to an unintended LOOKUP_BENEATH bypass
that allows write-capable users to create zero-length files or
directories outside the exported share.
Fix this by ensuring that the execution only proceeds to the caseless
lookup retry when the error is specifically -ENOENT. Any other errors,
such as -EXDEV from a path traversal attempt, must be returned immediately. |
| Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in Erlang OTP (stdlib zip module) allows writing files outside the intended extraction directory via a crafted zip archive.
zip:unzip/1,2 and zip:extract/1,2 validate entry paths using zip:check_dir_level/2, which tracks directory depth as a running integer counter: .. decrements it, normal path components increment it. The caller rejects only paths where the final counter value is less than zero. A path such as ../x/y causes the counter to go negative mid-traversal then recover to zero, passing validation while resolving to a location outside the extraction directory when joined with the current working directory via add_cwd.
This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/stdlib/src/zip.erl.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 27.1 before OTP 29.0.4, OTP 28.5.0.4 and OTP 27.3.4.15, corresponding to stdlib from 6.1 before 8.0.3, 7.3.0.1 and 6.2.2.4. |
| DriveLock Directory Traversal Information Disclosure Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of DriveLock. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the web service, which listens on TCP port 4568 by default. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose information in the context of the service account. Was ZDI-CAN-28713. |
| Rclone is a command-line program to sync files and directories to and from different cloud storage providers. Prior to 1.74.4, rclone serve restic --private-repos enforces authorization using the routed user path segment while building the backend object key from the raw uncleaned URL path, allowing an authenticated user to include .. in a request such as //..//config and read, overwrite, or delete another user's private repository on backends that clean path components. This issue is fixed in version 1.74.4. |
| Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Unauthenticated arbitrary file read in Gridbox < 2.20.2 - The photo viewer allows unauthenticated attackers to view arbitrary files. |
| Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Unauthenticated recursive directory deletion < 2.20.2 - The generateNewApp method allows actors to recursively delete directories. |
| The SpeedyCache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Read via Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.8. This is due to a mismatch between CSS URL validation (which allows query strings like `.css?...`) and path resolution (which strips query strings), combined with no validation that the resolved file is actually a CSS file. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to read arbitrary files from the server (including `wp-config.php` and `/etc/passwd`) by injecting crafted `<link>` tags into page content, with the file contents written to publicly accessible cache files. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache Lucene.Net (Lucene.Net.Replicator library).
This issue affects Apache Lucene.Net.Replicator: from 4.8.0-beta00005 before 4.8.0-beta00018.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.8.0-beta00018, which fixes the issue. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache Lucene.Net (Lucene.Net.Replicator library).
This issue affects Apache Lucene.Net.Replicator: from 4.8.0-beta00005 through 4.8.0-beta00017.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.8.0-beta00018, which fixes the issue. |
| openhole exposes localhost to the internet in one command. In 0.1.1 and earlier, openhole-server in internal/server/public_proxy.go forwarded r.URL.Path instead of preserving the original request target with r.URL.EscapedPath(), allowing percent encoded dot segments %2e and separators %2f to reach tunneled local services as ../ and / for path traversal. This issue is fixed in version 0.1.2. |
| Pagy is agnostic pagination in plain Ruby. From 43.0.0 until 43.5.6, Pagy::I18n.locale= in gem/lib/pagy/modules/i18n/i18n.rb stored locale values verbatim and later used them as <locale>.yml path components, allowing untrusted params[:locale] values with absolute paths or ../ sequences to create a file existence and readability oracle for YAML files. This issue is fixed in version 43.5.6. |
| A path traversal vulnerability exists in the Git Service component shared by Altium Enterprise Server and Altium 365. The service accepts a sequence of post-clone file-manipulation operations that use user-supplied paths without validation, allowing an authenticated user with basic git access to move arbitrary files outside the intended repository area.
This file-move primitive can be used to place attacker-controlled script content into directories where it is later executed by the service, resulting in remote code execution under the Git Service account. On multi-tenant Altium 365 deployments, this could have allowed access to data belonging to other tenants on the same infrastructure node.
Altium Enterprise Server is fixed in 8.1.1; the issue has been remediated in Altium 365 (commercial and government cloud) at the service level. |
| A vulnerability in Cisco Catalyst Center could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to read arbitrary files from a restricted container.
This vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to read arbitrary files from a restricted container of the affected device. |
| datamodel-code-generator generates Python data models from schema definitions. From 0.59.0 until 0.62.0, XML Schema parsing in src/datamodel_code_generator/parser/xmlschema.py for --input-file-type xmlschema resolves xs:include, xs:import, xs:redefine, and xs:override schemaLocation values outside the input base path, allowing arbitrary local files to be read and reflected into generated models. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.0. |
| IBM WebSphere Application Server - Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.8 ND Collective Controller is affected by a path-segment injection vulnerability in the collective routing mechanism. |
| datamodel-code-generator generates Pydantic v2 models, dataclasses, TypedDict, and msgspec.Struct from OpenAPI, JSON Schema, GraphQL, Avro, Protobuf, and raw JSON, YAML, or CSV. Prior to 0.62.0, datamodel-code-generator resolves JSON Schema $ref targets in src/datamodel_code_generator/parser/jsonschema.py through is_url and _get_ref_body without containing file:// or ../ traversal references to the input directory and without honoring --no-allow-remote-refs, allowing arbitrary local file reads. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.0. |
| A vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to perform path traversal attacks on the underlying operating system to either read or delete arbitrary files. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have valid administrative credentials.
This vulnerability is due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to access sensitive files or delete arbitrary files on the affected system. |
| Impact: @fastify/http-proxy versions from 9.4.0 up to and including 11.5.0 fail to validate the resolved WebSocket destination path against the configured rewrite prefix. The WebSocket routing path in WebSocketProxy.findUpstream resolves the destination via the WHATWG URL constructor, which collapses dot segments, so a crafted upgrade request with path traversal sequences can escape the rewrite prefix and reach upstream endpoints that were not meant to be exposed by the proxy. This is a variant of CVE-2021-21322 in a code path that never went through the HTTP fix in fastify/reply-from. Exploitation requires a non-normalizing WebSocket client, since browsers and the ws package normalize the request path before sending, but raw HTTP clients or downstream proxies that forward the request target unchanged make the attack reachable in production topologies.
Patches: upgrade to @fastify/http-proxy 11.6.0.
Workarounds: none. |
| Administrator Arbitrary File Deletion in Easy Digital Downloads <= 3.6.9 versions. |
| The Demi – One Click Demo Import, WP Backup & Site Migration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary Directory Deletion in all versions up to, and including, 0.0.7. The vulnerability exists because the plugin stores its HMAC signing key and per-step restore token as dotfiles inside a publicly accessible subdirectory of the WordPress uploads folder — without any `.htaccess` or index file protection — and the `demi_restore_step` AJAX handler, registered for unauthenticated callers, explicitly accepts possession of the on-disk signing key as a standalone alternative to WordPress capability and nonce checks; an unauthenticated attacker who retrieves the exposed key can forge a valid signed state envelope to invoke `CleanDir::execute()` with a caller-supplied absolute path that is subject to no allow-list or path-canonicalization check. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to recursively delete arbitrary directories on the server. |
