CVSS v3.1 |
| A malformed DNS message in response to a query can cause the Lookup functions to get stuck in an infinite loop. |
| The protojson.Unmarshal function can enter an infinite loop when unmarshaling certain forms of invalid JSON. This condition can occur when unmarshaling into a message which contains a google.protobuf.Any value, or when the UnmarshalOptions.DiscardUnknown option is set. |
| A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the jaraco/zipp library, affecting all versions prior to 3.19.1. The vulnerability is triggered when processing a specially crafted zip file that leads to an infinite loop. This issue also impacts the zipfile module of CPython, as features from the third-party zipp library are later merged into CPython, and the affected code is identical in both projects. The infinite loop can be initiated through the use of functions affecting the `Path` module in both zipp and zipfile, such as `joinpath`, the overloaded division operator, and `iterdir`. Although the infinite loop is not resource exhaustive, it prevents the application from responding. The vulnerability was addressed in version 3.19.1 of jaraco/zipp. |
| Due to a bug in packet data buffers management, the PPP printer in tcpdump can enter an infinite loop when reading a crafted DLT_PPP_SERIAL .pcap savefile. This problem does not affect any tcpdump release, but it affected the git master branch from 2023-06-05 to 2024-03-21. |
| Loop with unreachable exit condition ('infinite loop') for some Intel(R) Platform within Ring 0: Kernel may allow a denial of service. System software adversary with a privileged user combined with a low complexity attack may enable denial of service. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are not present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts. |
| An issue was discovered in the demo/LINUXTCP implementation of cwalter-at freemodbus v.2018-09-12 allowing attackers to reach an infinite loop via a crafted length value for a packet. |
| When reading binary Ion data through Amazon.IonDotnet using the RawBinaryReader class, Amazon.IonDotnet does not check the number of bytes read from the underlying stream while deserializing the binary format. If the Ion data is malformed or truncated, this triggers an infinite loop condition that could potentially result in a denial of service. Users should upgrade to Amazon.IonDotnet version 1.3.1 and ensure any forked or derivative code is patched to incorporate the new fixes. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fuse: fix readahead reclaim deadlock
Commit e26ee4efbc79 ("fuse: allocate ff->release_args only if release is
needed") skips allocating ff->release_args if the server does not
implement open. However in doing so, fuse_prepare_release() now skips
grabbing the reference on the inode, which makes it possible for an
inode to be evicted from the dcache while there are inflight readahead
requests. This causes a deadlock if the server triggers reclaim while
servicing the readahead request and reclaim attempts to evict the inode
of the file being read ahead. Since the folio is locked during
readahead, when reclaim evicts the fuse inode and fuse_evict_inode()
attempts to remove all folios associated with the inode from the page
cache (truncate_inode_pages_range()), reclaim will block forever waiting
for the lock since readahead cannot relinquish the lock because it is
itself blocked in reclaim:

Fix this deadlock by allocating ff->release_args and grabbing the
reference on the inode when preparing the file for release even if the
server does not implement open. The inode reference will be dropped when
the last reference on the fuse file is dropped (see fuse_file_put() ->
fuse_release_end()). |
| A hidden field manipulation vulnerability was identified in Issuetrak version 17.1 that could be triggered by an authenticated user.
When an authenticated user submits a ticket, the request can be intercepted and subsequently modified by using a proxy. The ticket requester can be changed from the original requester to another user in the same application,
which the application then accepts. |
| Policy bypass in IFrameSandbox in Google Chrome prior to 147.0.7727.55 allowed a remote attacker who convinced a user to engage in specific UI gestures to bypass navigation restrictions via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low) |
| Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output vulnerability in the JsonAccessLogValve component of Apache Tomcat.
This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.20, from 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.53, from 9.0.40 through 9.0.116.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.21, 10.1.54 or 9.0.117 , which fix the issue. |
| CEWE PHOTO SHOW 6.4.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows attackers to crash the application by submitting an excessively long buffer to the password field. Attackers can paste a large string of repeated characters into the password input during the upload process to trigger an application crash. |
| Loop with unreachable exit condition ('infinite loop') vulnerability in The Wikimedia Foundation Mediawiki - GrowthExperiments Extension allows Leveraging Time-of-Check and Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) Race Conditions. This issue was remediated only on the `master` branch. |
| Calling gethostbyaddr or gethostbyaddr_r with a configured nsswitch.conf that specifies the library's DNS backend in the GNU C library version 2.34 to version 2.43 could result in an invalid DNS hostname being returned to the caller in violation of the DNS specification. |
| Forge (also called `node-forge`) is a native implementation of Transport Layer Security in JavaScript. Prior to version 1.4.0, a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the node-forge library due to an infinite loop in the BigInteger.modInverse() function (inherited from the bundled jsbn library). When modInverse() is called with a zero value as input, the internal Extended Euclidean Algorithm enters an unreachable exit condition, causing the process to hang indefinitely and consume 100% CPU. Version 1.4.0 patches the issue. |
| The Backuply – Backup, Restore, Migrate and Clone plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Denial of Service in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.6. This is due to direct access of the backuply/restore_ins.php file and. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to make excessive requests that result in the server running out of resources. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath11k: fix RCU stall while reaping monitor destination ring
While processing the monitor destination ring, MSDUs are reaped from the
link descriptor based on the corresponding buf_id.
However, sometimes the driver cannot obtain a valid buffer corresponding
to the buf_id received from the hardware. This causes an infinite loop
in the destination processing, resulting in a kernel crash.
kernel log:
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data msdu_pop: invalid buf_id 309
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data dp_rx_monitor_link_desc_return failed
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data msdu_pop: invalid buf_id 309
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data dp_rx_monitor_link_desc_return failed
Fix this by skipping the problematic buf_id and reaping the next entry,
replacing the break with the next MSDU processing.

| Serialize JavaScript to a superset of JSON that includes regular expressions and functions. Prior to version 7.0.5, there is a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability caused by CPU exhaustion. When serializing a specially crafted "array-like" object (an object that inherits from Array.prototype but has a very large length property), the process enters an intensive loop that consumes 100% CPU and hangs indefinitely. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.5. |
| NanoMQ v0.22.7 is vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) due to improper resource throttling. A crafted sequence of requests causes the recv-q queue to saturate, leading to the rapid exhaustion of system file descriptors (FDs). This exhaustion triggers a process crash, rendering the broker unable to provide services. |
| Issues in stm32 USB device driver (drivers/usb/device/usb_dc_stm32.c) can lead to an infinite while loop. |
