| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: fix exchange-range reflink flag clearing issue with INO1_WRITTEN
When exchanging two full-file ranges, xmi_can_exchange_reflink_flags()
can move the reflink inode flag from the file that currently has it to
the other file, as long as exactly one side is marked. This assumes
that the file contents, and therefore all shared extents, are exchanged.
That assumption is not true when XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is set.
xfs_exchmaps_can_skip_mapping() can skip hole and unwritten mappings
from file1, so an exchange can complete without moving every mapping
that the earlier flag-swap decision accounted for. In that case the
post-operation cleanup can clear the reflink flag from an inode that
still owns shared written extents. Later writes then take the
non-reflink write path and may update blocks that should still have
been protected by CoW, which shows up as data corruption between
reflink-related files.
Fix this by disabling the reflink flag exchange whenever
XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is requested. The contents exchange can still
proceed; the conservative outcome is that both inodes keep the reflink
flag. The regular reflink flag cleanup path can drop the extra flag
later once the inode no longer has shared extents. |

| There is an out of bounds write vulnerability due to improper bounds checking resulting in a large destination address when parsing a DSB file with Digilent DASYLab. This vulnerability may result in arbitrary code execution. Successful exploitation requires an attacker to get a user to open a specially crafted DSB file. The vulnerability affects all versions of DASYLab. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) include PEC byte in pmbus_block_xfer read buffer
adm1266_pmbus_block_xfer() sets up the read transaction with
.buf = data->read_buf,
.len = ADM1266_PMBUS_BLOCK_MAX + 2,
but read_buf in struct adm1266_data is declared as
u8 read_buf[ADM1266_PMBUS_BLOCK_MAX + 1];
For a max-length block response (length byte = 255 + up to 1 PEC
byte), the i2c controller is told to write 257 bytes into a 256-byte
buffer, putting one byte past the end of read_buf. The same response
also makes the subsequent PEC compare
if (crc != msgs[1].buf[msgs[1].buf[0] + 1])
read a byte beyond the array.
Bump the read_buf declaration to ADM1266_PMBUS_BLOCK_MAX + 2 so the
buffer can hold the length byte, up to 255 payload bytes, and the PEC
byte the i2c_msg length already accounts for. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) reject implausible blackbox record_count
adm1266_nvmem_read_blackbox() loops over a record_count that comes
straight from byte 3 of the BLACKBOX_INFO response. The destination
buffer is data->dev_mem, sized for the nvmem cell's declared 2048
bytes (ADM1266_BLACKBOX_MAX_RECORDS * ADM1266_BLACKBOX_SIZE = 32 * 64).
A device that reports a record_count greater than 32 -- whether due
to firmware bugs, bus corruption, or a non-responsive slave returning
0xff -- would walk read_buff past the end of the dev_mem allocation
on the trailing iterations.
Cap record_count at ADM1266_BLACKBOX_MAX_RECORDS (introduced here)
before entering the loop and return -EIO on any larger value, so a
malformed BLACKBOX_INFO response cannot drive the loop out of bounds. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Prevent out-of-bounds read in glob matching
String event fields are not necessarily NUL-terminated, so the filter
predicate functions (filter_pred_string(), filter_pred_strloc() and
filter_pred_strrelloc()) pass the field length to the regex match
callbacks, and the length-aware matchers honour it.
regex_match_glob() was the exception: it ignored the length and called
glob_match(), which scans the string until it hits a NUL byte. Some
string fields are not NUL-terminated. One example is the dynamic char
array of the xfs_* namespace tracepoints, which is copied without a
trailing NUL. For such a field, glob matching reads past the end of
the event field, causing a KASAN slab-out-of-bounds read in
glob_match(), reached via regex_match_glob() and filter_match_preds()
from the xfs_lookup tracepoint.
Add a length-bounded glob_match_len() and use it from regex_match_glob()
so glob matching always stops at the field boundary. The matching loop
is factored into a shared helper so glob_match() keeps its behaviour. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf/aux: Fix page UAF in map_range()
map_range() reads rb->aux_pages[], rb->aux_nr_pages and rb->aux_pgoff via
perf_mmap_to_page() while holding only event->mmap_mutex. Those fields are
serialized by rb->aux_mutex, and mmap_mutex is per event.
Thus, two events sharing one rb via PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_OUTPUT can race
rb_alloc_aux() with map_range(), leading to a page-UAF scenario as follows:
CPU 0 CPU 1
===== =====
rb_alloc_aux() map_range()
[1]: allocate rb->aux_pages[0]
[2]: rb->aux_nr_pages++
[3]: perf_mmap_to_page()
returns rb->aux_pages[0]
[4]: map it as VM_PFNMAP
[5]: rb->aux_pgoff = 1
munmap the page
[6]: free rb->aux_pages[0]
Pages mapped as VM_PFNMAP have no refcount protection, so CPU 1 holds a
mapping to a freed physical frame.
Fix this by taking rb->aux_mutex across the page walk in map_range(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
regulator: scmi: fix of_node refcount leak in scmi_regulator_probe()
scmi_regulator_probe() calls of_find_node_by_name() which takes a
reference on the returned device node. On the error path where
process_scmi_regulator_of_node() fails, the function returns without
calling of_node_put() on the child node, leaking the reference.
Add of_node_put(np) on the error path to properly release the
reference. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/mm: Fix freeing of PMD-sized vmemmap pages
Commit bf9e4e30f353 ("x86/mm: use pagetable_free()"), switched from
freeing non-boot page tables through __free_pages() to
pagetable_free().
However, the function is also called to free vmemmap pages.
Given that vmemmap pages are not page tables, already the page_ptdesc(page)
is wrong. But worse, pagetable_free() calls:
__free_pages(page, compound_order(page));
Since vmemmap pages are not compound pages (see vmemmap_alloc_block())
-- except for HVO, which doesn't apply here -- only first page of a
PMD-sized vmemmap page is freed, leaking the other ones.
Fix it by properly decoupling pagetable and vmemmap freeing.
free_pagetable() no longer has to mess with SECTION_INFO, as only the
vmemmap is marked like that in register_page_bootmem_memmap().
The indentation in remove_pmd_table() is messed up. Fix that while
touching it.
Bootmem info handling will soon be fixed up. For now, handle it
similar to free_pagetable(), just avoiding the ifdef.

| openssl_encrypt (pip) versions <= 1.4.7 contain an information exposure vulnerability where the 'hsm fido2-test' and 'hsm onlykey-test' diagnostic commands unconditionally print the full derived hardware pepper as hex to stdout/stderr (crypt_cli.py, handle_hsm_command). The printed value can persist in terminal scrollback, session recordings, or CI logs. Impact is limited because the pepper is derived from a random per-invocation test salt and is salt-bound, so the leaked value cannot be used to decrypt real files. A related plugin issue logged raw prf_data outside the secret-redaction path. Fixed in 1.4.8 (and 1.5.0) by removing the hex dumps and routing plugin debug output through the redaction layer. |
