| GIMP TIF File Parsing Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29399. |
| GStreamer OGG File Parsing Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GStreamer. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of OGG files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29584. |
| The ISO-2022 encoding module used a stack buffer sized to MB_LEN_MAX (6 bytes) for intermediate character output. Some ISO-2022 variants can require up to 10 bytes per character, in which case conversions can trigger a stack buffer overflow of up to four bytes.
An application that uses iconv(3) to convert untrusted input to or from one of the affected encodings may be vulnerable to buffer overflows if it uses one of the affected encoding modules. |
| Netis NC63 firmware through V3.0.0.3327 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to overwrite saved stack state by supplying an oversized destHost parameter to the ipFilterList=mod action in netis.cgi. Attackers can exploit widthless sscanf conversions that copy user-supplied input into fixed-size stack buffers before authentication is verified, achieving remote code execution as root due to the Boa web server executing the CGI environment with root privileges. |
| Buffer overflow in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| A vulnerability was determined in TRENDnet TEW-821DAP 2.2.01b05. Affected by this vulnerability is the function uci_safe_get of the file /cgi-bin/apply_time.cgi of the component NTP Timezone Configuration Handler. Executing a manipulation of the argument system.ntp.server/system.ntp.enable_server/cameo.time.time_zone/cameo.cameo.syslog_server can lead to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. |
| A single crafted SSH message gives an unauthenticated network attacker an out-of-bounds stack write of attacker-controlled length and content against any application built on swift-nio-ssh. This vulnerability is addressed in swift-nio-ssh version 0.14.1. |
| Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, and FW1060.00 through FW1060.80 is affected by a vulnerability in the host firmware boot process image validation path. An attacker with service access to the service processor can supply a maliciously crafted code update image, allowing arbitrary code to be executed on the host system. Successful exploitation could result in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact to the affected host system. |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a stack-based buffer overflow. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the Dia diagram editor when processing Network Bus objects from Dia XML project files.
In objects/network/bus.c, bus_load() reads the number of bus handles from the file attribute "bus_handles" using attribute_num_data() without validating an upper bound:
bus->num_handles = attribute_num_data(attr);
When a bus handle is subsequently moved, bus_handle_moved() allocates two temporary arrays on the stack:
parallel = (real *)g_alloca(num_handles * sizeof(real));
perp = (real *)g_alloca(num_handles * sizeof(real));
Because num_handles is fully attacker-controlled via the project file, sufficiently large values (for example 262144 or higher) cause g_alloca() to consume more stack space than the default thread stack limit (typically 8 MB on Linux), resulting in stack overflow, SIGSEGV, and potential stack frame / return-address corruption.
An attacker can embed a Bus object with an excessive bus_handles count in a malicious .dia file. Exploitation requires the victim to open the file in Dia (file dialog, command line, or file association) and trigger handle manipulation (moving a bus handle), which exercises the vulnerable code path.
The identical g_alloca pattern is present in objects/Misc/tree.c (copied from bus.c) and is likely vulnerable to the same class of attack via Tree objects.
Affected versions: Dia 0.98.0 and earlier versions containing this code; issue confirmed on upstream master as of 2026-08-21.

| IBM PowerVM Hypervisor FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, and FW1060.00 through FW1060.80 is affected by a vulnerability in host firmware configuration parsing. An attacker with authenticated service-level access to the service processor can write specially crafted configuration data, causing the host firmware boot stack to crash with possible memory corruption during system initialisation, resulting in an integrity and availability impact to the managed system. |
| IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, FW950.00 through FW950.H2, OP940.00 through OP940.a1 (Power9), and OP940.00 - OP940.81 (Power HMC) is affected by a vulnerability in host firmware configuration parsing. An attacker with service-level access to the BMC/FSP can supply specially crafted configuration data, compromising the host firmware boot stage and everything subsequently loaded by it, resulting in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact to the managed system. |
| IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, and FW1110.00 through FW1110.30 is affected by a vulnerability in the interface between the BMC and the host system. An attacker with service access to the BMC can send a specially crafted command, allowing arbitrary code to be executed on the host system, giving full control over the host system and all hosted partitions, resulting in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. |
| IBM Server Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, and FW950.00 through FW950.H2 is affected by a vulnerability in the FSP firmware update process. An attacker with authenticated administrator-level access to the FSP can, under specific conditions, execute arbitrary code, resulting in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. |
| IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, and FW950.00 through FW950.H2 is affected by a vulnerability in the FSP management network protocol. An attacker with authenticated HMC administrator access can execute arbitrary code on the service processor, giving full control over the managed system, resulting in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. |
| Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has an off-by-one stack buffer overflow in evdns.c when dnsname_to_labels formats a name-bearing DNS record at the end of the 64 KB stack buffer allocated by evdns_server_request_format_response. The final-label check permits j plus label_len plus one to equal buf_len, after which the terminating null byte is written to buf[buf_len]. A crafted DNS server response containing PTR, CNAME, MX, NS, or SOA data can trigger the one-byte out-of-bounds write and crash or corrupt the process. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha. |
| A vulnerability was found in TRENDnet TEW-755AP up to 20260702. Affected is the function FUN_401000 of the file /sbin/mycli. The manipulation of the argument ssid results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in SKYSEA Client View and SKYMEC IT Manager. If this vulnerability is exploited, an attacker who can log in to a Windows system on which the affected product is installed may be able to execute arbitrary code on another Windows system that has the affected product installed and can receive UDP packets from that system. |
| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. From version 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, a crafted HTJ2K-compressed EXR can crash OpenEXR during normal decode. An HTJ2K-compressed EXR whose JPEG 2000 SIZ fields place the first tile outside the visible image can reach invalid tile and codeblock geometry in the vendored OpenJPH AVX2 decoder, causing a stack out-of-bounds write and denial of service. OpenEXR's HTJ2K path validates the decoded codestream dimensions against the EXR chunk size, but it does not reject SIZ image-offset/tile-grid geometry where the first tile does not intersect the image. This issue is fixed in version 3.4.14. |
| IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, and FW950.00 through FW950.H2 is affected by a vulnerability in the ASMI web interface. An unauthenticated attacker with network access can send the FSP a malformed request, allowing arbitrary code execution, giving the attacker full control over the managed system, resulting in a confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. |
