CVE-2026-80705 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: check if dml21_add_phantom_plane() is successful Verify that the phantom plane was allocated to avoid a later segfault. (cherry picked from commit 5adb54abe5a8e82cbff7f8806db30a5f4924329f)
CVE-2026-80704 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: use proper context for logging The same as the rest of the code, get_ss_info_from_atombios() uses calc_pll_cs->ctx->logger for logging. But calc_pll_cs->ctx is initialized only later in calc_pll_max_vco_construct(). Therefore, any output using DC_LOG_SYNC() leads to a NULL pointer deference in get_ss_info_from_atombios(). According to Sashiko, the very same problem exists in dce112_get_pix_clk_dividers() and dcn3_get_pix_clk_dividers() too. To avoid accessing the NULL context, use clk_src->base.ctx->logger everywhere. That context in base is initialized earlier in dce110_clk_src_construct() and dce112_clk_src_construct(). Before get_ss_info_from_atombios() or Sashiko's get_pix_clk_dividers functions above are actually called. This is done by redefining DC_LOGGER to CTX->logger. Before: dce110_clk_src_construct() did: -> sets clk_src->base.ctx = ctx; -> ss_info_from_atombios_create() -> get_ss_info_from_atombios() <- uses calc_pll_cs->ctx # BOOM -> calc_pll_max_vco_construct() <- sets calc_pll_cs->ctx After: dce110_clk_src_construct() does: -> sets clk_src->base.ctx = ctx; -> ss_info_from_atombios_create() -> get_ss_info_from_atombios() <- uses clk_src->base.ctx (cherry picked from commit 6f16fcbb0c46a87e3d9685407e906573d60104b0)
CVE-2026-80655 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soc: xilinx: Fix race condition in event registration The zynqmp_power driver registers handlers for suspend and subsystem restart events using register_event(). However, the work structures (zynqmp_pm_init_suspend_work and zynqmp_pm_init_restart_work) used by these handlers were allocated and initialized after the registration call. This created a race window where, if the firmware triggered an event immediately after registration but before allocation, the callback (suspend_event_callback or subsystem_restart_event_callback) would dereference a NULL pointer in work_pending(), leading to a crash. Fix this by allocating and initializing the work structures before registering the events.
CVE-2026-43272 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ring-buffer: Fix possible dereference of uninitialized pointer There is a pointer head_page in rb_meta_validate_events() which is not initialized at the beginning of a function. This pointer can be dereferenced if there is a failure during reader page validation. In this case the control is passed to "invalid" label where the pointer is dereferenced in a loop. To fix the issue initialize orig_head and head_page before calling rb_validate_buffer. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
CVE-2026-43263 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: chips-media: wave5: Fix Null reference while testing fluster When multi instances are created/destroyed, many interrupts happens and structures for decoder are removed. "struct vpu_instance" this structure is shared for all flow in the decoder, so if the structure is not protected by lock, Null dereference could happens sometimes. IRQ Handler was spilt to two phases and Lock was added as well.
CVE-2026-31579 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wireguard: device: use exit_rtnl callback instead of manual rtnl_lock in pre_exit wg_netns_pre_exit() manually acquires rtnl_lock() inside the pernet .pre_exit callback. This causes a hung task when another thread holds rtnl_mutex - the cleanup_net workqueue (or the setup_net failure rollback path) blocks indefinitely in wg_netns_pre_exit() waiting to acquire the lock. Convert to .exit_rtnl, introduced in commit 7a60d91c690b ("net: Add ->exit_rtnl() hook to struct pernet_operations."), where the framework already holds RTNL and batches all callbacks under a single rtnl_lock()/rtnl_unlock() pair, eliminating the contention window. The rcu_assign_pointer(wg->creating_net, NULL) is safe to move from .pre_exit to .exit_rtnl (which runs after synchronize_rcu()) because all RCU readers of creating_net either use maybe_get_net() - which returns NULL for a dying namespace with zero refcount - or access net->user_ns which remains valid throughout the entire ops_undo_list sequence. [ Jason: added __net_exit and __read_mostly annotations that were missing. ]
CVE-2026-31562 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/mediatek: dsi: Store driver data before invoking mipi_dsi_host_register The call to mipi_dsi_host_register triggers a callback to mtk_dsi_bind, which uses dev_get_drvdata to retrieve the mtk_dsi struct, so this structure needs to be stored inside the driver data before invoking it. As drvdata is currently uninitialized it leads to a crash when registering the DSI DRM encoder right after acquiring the mode_config.idr_mutex, blocking all subsequent DRM operations. Fixes the following crash during mediatek-drm probe (tested on Xiaomi Smart Clock x04g): Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000040 [...] Modules linked in: mediatek_drm(+) drm_display_helper cec drm_client_lib drm_dma_helper drm_kms_helper panel_simple [...] Call trace: drm_mode_object_add+0x58/0x98 (P) __drm_encoder_init+0x48/0x140 drm_encoder_init+0x6c/0xa0 drm_simple_encoder_init+0x20/0x34 [drm_kms_helper] mtk_dsi_bind+0x34/0x13c [mediatek_drm] component_bind_all+0x120/0x280 mtk_drm_bind+0x284/0x67c [mediatek_drm] try_to_bring_up_aggregate_device+0x23c/0x320 __component_add+0xa4/0x198 component_add+0x14/0x20 mtk_dsi_host_attach+0x78/0x100 [mediatek_drm] mipi_dsi_attach+0x2c/0x50 panel_simple_dsi_probe+0x4c/0x9c [panel_simple] mipi_dsi_drv_probe+0x1c/0x28 really_probe+0xc0/0x3dc __driver_probe_device+0x80/0x160 driver_probe_device+0x40/0x120 __device_attach_driver+0xbc/0x17c bus_for_each_drv+0x88/0xf0 __device_attach+0x9c/0x1cc device_initial_probe+0x54/0x60 bus_probe_device+0x34/0xa0 device_add+0x5b0/0x800 mipi_dsi_device_register_full+0xdc/0x16c mipi_dsi_host_register+0xc4/0x17c mtk_dsi_probe+0x10c/0x260 [mediatek_drm] platform_probe+0x5c/0xa4 really_probe+0xc0/0x3dc __driver_probe_device+0x80/0x160 driver_probe_device+0x40/0x120 __driver_attach+0xc8/0x1f8 bus_for_each_dev+0x7c/0xe0 driver_attach+0x24/0x30 bus_add_driver+0x11c/0x240 driver_register+0x68/0x130 __platform_register_drivers+0x64/0x160 mtk_drm_init+0x24/0x1000 [mediatek_drm] do_one_initcall+0x60/0x1d0 do_init_module+0x54/0x240 load_module+0x1838/0x1dc0 init_module_from_file+0xd8/0xf0 __arm64_sys_finit_module+0x1b4/0x428 invoke_syscall.constprop.0+0x48/0xc8 do_el0_svc+0x3c/0xb8 el0_svc+0x34/0xe8 el0t_64_sync_handler+0xa0/0xe4 el0t_64_sync+0x198/0x19c Code: 52800022 941004ab 2a0003f3 37f80040 (29005a80)

CVE-2025-39879 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: always call ceph_shift_unused_folios_left() The function ceph_process_folio_batch() sets folio_batch entries to NULL, which is an illegal state. Before folio_batch_release() crashes due to this API violation, the function ceph_shift_unused_folios_left() is supposed to remove those NULLs from the array. However, since commit ce80b76dd327 ("ceph: introduce ceph_process_folio_batch() method"), this shifting doesn't happen anymore because the "for" loop got moved to ceph_process_folio_batch(), and now the `i` variable that remains in ceph_writepages_start() doesn't get incremented anymore, making the shifting effectively unreachable much of the time. Later, commit 1551ec61dc55 ("ceph: introduce ceph_submit_write() method") added more preconditions for doing the shift, replacing the `i` check (with something that is still just as broken): - if ceph_process_folio_batch() fails, shifting never happens - if ceph_move_dirty_page_in_page_array() was never called (because ceph_process_folio_batch() has returned early for some of various reasons), shifting never happens - if `processed_in_fbatch` is zero (because ceph_process_folio_batch() has returned early for some of the reasons mentioned above or because ceph_move_dirty_page_in_page_array() has failed), shifting never happens Since those two commits, any problem in ceph_process_folio_batch() could crash the kernel, e.g. this way: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000034 #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page PGD 0 P4D 0 Oops: Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP NOPTI CPU: 172 UID: 0 PID: 2342707 Comm: kworker/u778:8 Not tainted 6.15.10-cm4all1-es #714 NONE Hardware name: Dell Inc. (Interestingly, the crash happens only if `huge_zero_folio` has already been allocated; without `huge_zero_folio`, is_huge_zero_folio(NULL) returns true and folios_put_refs() skips NULL entries instead of dereferencing them. That makes reproducing the bug somewhat unreliable. See https://lore.kernel.org/20250826231626.218675-1-max.kellermann@ionos.com for a discussion of this detail.) My suggestion is to move the ceph_shift_unused_folios_left() to right after ceph_process_folio_batch() to ensure it always gets called to fix up the illegal folio_batch state.
CVE-2025-39878 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix crash after fscrypt_encrypt_pagecache_blocks() error The function move_dirty_folio_in_page_array() was created by commit ce80b76dd327 ("ceph: introduce ceph_process_folio_batch() method") by moving code from ceph_writepages_start() to this function. This new function is supposed to return an error code which is checked by the caller (now ceph_process_folio_batch()), and on error, the caller invokes redirty_page_for_writepage() and then breaks from the loop. However, the refactoring commit has gone wrong, and it by accident, it always returns 0 (= success) because it first NULLs the pointer and then returns PTR_ERR(NULL) which is always 0. This means errors are silently ignored, leaving NULL entries in the page array, which may later crash the kernel. The simple solution is to call PTR_ERR() before clearing the pointer.
CVE-2025-38605 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: Pass ab pointer directly to ath12k_dp_tx_get_encap_type() In ath12k_dp_tx_get_encap_type(), the arvif parameter is only used to retrieve the ab pointer. In vdev delete sequence the arvif->ar could become NULL and that would trigger kernel panic. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ublk: fix handling recovery & reissue in ublk_abort_queue() Commit 8284066946e6 ("ublk: grab request reference when the request is handled by userspace") doesn't grab request reference in case of recovery reissue. CVE-2024-56702 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark raw_tp arguments with PTR_MAYBE_NULL Arguments to a raw tracepoint are tagged as trusted, which carries the semantics that the pointer will be non-NULL. However, in certain cases, a raw tracepoint argument may end up being NULL. More context about this issue is available in [0]. Thus, there is a discrepancy between the reality, that raw_tp arguments can actually be NULL, and the verifier's knowledge, that they are never NULL, causing explicit NULL checks to be deleted, and accesses to such pointers potentially crashing the kernel. To fix this, mark raw_tp arguments as PTR_MAYBE_NULL, and then special case the dereference and pointer arithmetic to permit it, and allow passing them into helpers/kfuncs; these exceptions are made for raw_tp programs only. Ensure that we don't do this when ref_obj_id > 0, as in that case this is an acquired object and doesn't need such adjustment. The reason we do mask_raw_tp_trusted_reg logic is because other will recheck in places whether the register is a trusted_reg, and then consider our register as untrusted when detecting the presence of the PTR_MAYBE_NULL flag. To allow safe dereference, we enable PROBE_MEM marking when we see loads into trusted pointers with PTR_MAYBE_NULL. While trusted raw_tp arguments can also be passed into helpers or kfuncs where such broken assumption may cause issues, a future patch set will tackle their case separately, as PTR_TO_BTF_ID (without PTR_TRUSTED) can already be passed into helpers and causes similar problems. Thus, they are left alone for now. It is possible that these checks also permit passing non-raw_tp args that are trusted PTR_TO_BTF_ID with null marking. In such a case, allowing dereference when pointer is NULL expands allowed behavior, so won't regress existing programs, and the case of passing these into helpers is the same as above and will be dealt with later. Also update the failure case in tp_btf_nullable selftest to capture the new behavior, as the verifier will no longer cause an error when directly dereference a raw tracepoint argument marked as __nullable. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udmabuf: change folios array from kmalloc to kvmalloc When PAGE_SIZE 4096, MAX_PAGE_ORDER 10, 64bit machine, page_alloc only support 4MB. If above this, trigger this warn and return NULL. udmabuf can change size limit, if change it to 3072(3GB), and then alloc 3GB udmabuf, will fail create. Further more, costly order(order 3) may not be guaranteed that it can be applied for, due to fragmentation. This patch change udmabuf array use kvmalloc_array, this can fallback alloc into vmalloc, which can guarantee allocation for any size and does not affect the performance of kmalloc allocations.
