CVE-2026-90367 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7996: hold dev->mt76.mutex while disabling tx worker in SER mt7996_mac_reset_work() parked the tx worker and disabled the RX/TX NAPIs before taking dev->mt76.mutex. mt76_worker_disable()/_enable() are plain kthread park/unpark, not refcounted, and __mt76_set_channel() toggles the same worker and the MT76_RESET bit under the mutex. An L1 SER racing a channel switch could therefore have the worker unparked and MT76_RESET cleared while the reset path resets the DMA rings, corrupting descriptors or tokens. Take the mutex before disabling the worker, as mt7915 does.
CVE-2026-89913 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: vgic-v3: take an LPI reference in vgic_v3_save_pending_tables vgic_v3_save_pending_tables() iterates dist->lpi_xa using xa_for_each() and dereferences the returned struct vgic_irq in the loop body without holding a reference on the LPI. The xarray iterator only provides temporary RCU coverage while looking up the current entry. That is not sufficient for this loop body, which reads fields from struct vgic_irq and performs guest memory accesses before the iteration completes. A concurrent path can trigger this race: the irqfd cached injection path (vgic_its_inject_cached_translation) obtains a transient LPI reference via vgic_its_check_cache() without holding kvm->lock, vcpu->mutex, config_lock, or its_lock. If guest ITS DISCARD then drops the cache and ITE references under its_lock, the transient inject reference may become the final one. When vgic_put_irq() drops it, the LPI is erased from lpi_xa and freed via kfree_rcu(). Meanwhile, vgic_v3_save_pending_tables() may still hold a stale pointer obtained from the xarray iterator and dereference it after the RCU grace period completes. Fix this by re-fetching each iterated LPI via vgic_get_irq(), which takes a stable reference, and dropping it with vgic_put_irq() on all paths. This matches the pattern already used by other lpi_xa iterators in the vgic ITS code.
CVE-2026-74605 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Use children field for rcu head and add memory barriers When an eventfs inode is freed, it sets ei->is_freed and then uses its ei->list to add it to the srcu link list as the list field is a union with the rcu list head. As the ei->list is used to iterate over an SRCU protected list without taking the eventfs_mutex, there's nothing stopping the iteration over that list to see the ei->rcu instead of the ei->list and it will read a corrupt target. To fix this, change the union of the rcu list head with the children list. On freeing the eventfs inode, set the is_free and execute a smp_wmb() before adding the eventfs inode to the SRCU list. On iteration of the ei->children list, at the start, execute a smp_rmb() and then read the is_freed of the ei to see if the children list is still valid. If is_freed is set, then the ei_child read is not valid and the loop should exit immediately.
CVE-2026-74449 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix divide-by-zero in calculate_mcache_setting on zero viewport If a plane reaches calculate_mcache_setting with a zero-area viewport, calculate_mcache_setting exits early with num_mcaches == 0 and mvmpg_width/height == 0. This will cause a divide-by-zero panic and can also cause an underflow on num_mcaches. Fix this by changing calculate_mcache_setting to bool and adding guards after each calculate_mcache_row_bytes call. If num_mcaches or mvmpg_width/height is zero, return a false. Callers will propagate the failure as a rejected mode, which prevents the panic. (cherry picked from commit 29c0f7c655f47bcbd575ff75e58480df6ec3c9da)
CVE-2026-74273 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/region: Block region delete during region creation Expand the range lock, rename it "regions_lock", to disable region deletion in the critical period between construct_region() and attach_target(), as well as the period between device_add() and registering the remove actions. Otherwise, userspace can confuse the kernel. It can violate the assumption the region stays registered through the completion of cxl_add_to_region(). It can violate the assumption that devm_add_action_or_reset() is working with a live 'struct cxl_region'. It is ok for the region to disappear outside of those windows as that mirrors device hotplug flows where the proper locks are held.
CVE-2026-74272 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/region: Resolve region deletion races Sungwoo noticed that the sysfs trigger to delete a region may try to delete a region multiple times. It also has no exclusion relative to the kernel releasing the region via CXL root device teardown. Instead of installing new cxl root devres actions per region, use the existing root decoder unregistration event to remove all remaining regions. An xarray of regions replaces a devres list of regions. This handles 3 separate issues with the old approach: 1/ sysfs users racing to delete the same region: no longer possible now that the regions_lock is held over the lookup and deletion. 2/ multiple actions triggering deletion of the same region: solved by erasing regions while holding @regions_lock, and only proceeding on successful erasure. 3/ userspace racing devres_release_all() to trigger the devres not found warning: solved by sysfs unregistration not requiring a release action
CVE-2026-64024 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 9.4 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: fix stale per-CPU tcp_tw_isn leak enabling ISN prediction Blamed commit moved the TIME_WAIT-derived ISN from the skb control block to a per-CPU variable, assuming the value would always be consumed by tcp_conn_request() for the same packet that wrote it. That assumption is violated by multiple drop paths between the producer (__this_cpu_write(tcp_tw_isn, isn) in tcp_v{4,6}_rcv()) and the consumer (tcp_conn_request()): - min_ttl / min_hopcount check - xfrm policy check - tcp_inbound_hash() MD5/AO mismatch - tcp_filter() eBPF/SO_ATTACH_FILTER drop - th->syn && th->fin discard in tcp_rcv_state_process() TCP_LISTEN - psp_sk_rx_policy_check() in tcp_v{4,6}_do_rcv() - tcp_checksum_complete() in tcp_v{4,6}_do_rcv() - tcp_v{4,6}_cookie_check() returning NULL When a packet is dropped on any of these paths, tcp_tw_isn is left set. The next SYN processed on the same CPU then consumes the non zero value in tcp_conn_request(), receiving a potentially predictable ISN. This patch moves back tcp_tw_isn to skb->cb[], getting rid of the per-cpu variable. Note that tcp_v{4,6}_fill_cb() do not set it. CVE-2026-53120 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: use generic driver_override infrastructure When a driver is probed through __driver_attach(), the bus' match() callback is called without the device lock held, thus accessing the driver_override field without a lock, which can cause a UAF. Fix this by using the driver-core driver_override infrastructure taking care of proper locking internally. Note that calling match() from __driver_attach() without the device lock held is intentional. [1]
CVE-2026-53109 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/pgtable-frag: Fix bad page state in pte_frag_destroy powerpc uses pt_frag_refcount as a reference counter for tracking it's pte and pmd page table fragments. For PTE table, in case of Hash with 64K pagesize, we have 16 fragments of 4K size in one 64K page. Patch series [1] "mm: free retracted page table by RCU" added pte_free_defer() to defer the freeing of PTE tables when retract_page_tables() is called for madvise MADV_COLLAPSE on shmem range. [1]: https://lore.kernel.org/all/7cd843a9-aa80-14f-5eb2-33427363c20@google.com/ pte_free_defer() sets the active flag on the corresponding fragment's folio & calls pte_fragment_free(), which reduces the pt_frag_refcount. When pt_frag_refcount reaches 0 (no active fragment using the folio), it checks if the folio active flag is set, if set, it calls call_rcu to free the folio, it the active flag is unset then it calls pte_free_now(). Now, this can lead to following problem in a corner case... Now, if this process exits, with such folio as it's cached pte_frag in mm->context, then during pte_frag_destroy(), we simply call pagetable_dtor() and pagetable_free(), meaning it doesn't clear the active flag. This, can lead to the above bug. Since we are anyway in do_exit() path, then if the refcount is 0, then I guess it should be ok to simply clear the folio active flag before calling pagetable_dtor() & pagetable_free().
CVE-2026-53097 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7996: fix use-after-free bugs in mt7996_mac_dump_work() When the mt7996 pci chip is detaching, the mt7996_crash_data is released in mt7996_coredump_unregister(). However, the work item dump_work may still be running or pending, leading to UAF bugs when the already freed crash_data is dereferenced again in mt7996_mac_dump_work(). The race condition can occur as follows: CPU 0 (removal path) | CPU 1 (workqueue) mt7996_pci_remove() | mt7996_sys_recovery_set() mt7996_unregister_device() | mt7996_reset() mt7996_coredump_unregister() | queue_work() vfree(dev->coredump.crash_data) | mt7996_mac_dump_work() | crash_data-> // UAF Fix this by ensuring dump_work is properly canceled before the crash_data is deallocated. Add cancel_work_sync() in mt7996_unregister_device() to synchronize with any pending or executing dump work.

CVE-2026-46008 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/damon/core: fix damos_walk() vs kdamond_fn() exit race When kdamond_fn() main loop is finished, the function cancels remaining damos_walk() request and unset the damon_ctx->kdamond so that API callers and API functions themselves can show the context is terminated. damos_walk() adds the caller's request to the queue first. After that, it shows if the kdamond of the damon_ctx is still running (damon_ctx->kdamond is set). Only if the kdamond is running, damos_walk() starts waiting for the kdamond's handling of the newly added request. The damos_walk() requests registration and damon_ctx->kdamond unset are protected by different mutexes, though. Hence, damos_walk() could race with damon_ctx->kdamond unset, and result in deadlocks. For example, let's suppose kdamond successfully finished the damow_walk() request cancelling. Right after that, damos_walk() is called for the context. It registers the new request, and shows the context is still running, because damon_ctx->kdamond unset is not yet done. Hence the damos_walk() caller starts waiting for the handling of the request. However, the kdamond is already on the termination steps, so it never handles the new request. As a result, the damos_walk() caller thread infinitely waits. Fix this by introducing another damon_ctx field, namely walk_control_obsolete. It is protected by the damon_ctx->walk_control_lock, which protects damos_walk() request registration. Initialize (unset) it in kdamond_fn() before letting damon_start() returns and set it just before the cancelling of the remaining damos_walk() request is executed. damos_walk() reads the obsolete field under the lock and avoids adding a new request. After this change, only requests that are guaranteed to be handled or cancelled are registered. Hence the after-registration DAMON context termination check is no longer needed. Remove it together. The issue is found by sashiko [1].
CVE-2026-80920 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring: defer eventfd signaling when queued from a wakeup handler io_req_local_work_add() signals the CQ ring eventfd inline when it is the one to push the first entry onto ->work_list. For DEFER_TASKRUN rings that add is frequently done from a waitqueue wakeup handler, where an arbitrary waitqueue lock is held. eventfd_signal_mask() only refuses to recurse when current->in_eventfd is set, but that bit is set by eventfd_signal_mask() itself. If the wake chain starts somewhere else, signal goes out inline and can feed back into epoll. Add IOU_F_TWQ_IN_WAKE, set it on the task_work add done from the three waitqueue callbacks, and use it to force io_eventfd_signal() down the existing call_rcu_hurry() deferral instead of signaling inline.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Fix "scheduling while atomic" in IPsec MAC address query Fix a "scheduling while atomic" bug in mlx5e_ipsec_init_macs() by replacing mlx5_query_mac_address() with ether_addr_copy() to get the local MAC address directly from netdev->dev_addr. The issue occurs because mlx5_query_mac_address() queries the hardware which involves mlx5_cmd_exec() that can sleep, but it is called from the mlx5e_ipsec_handle_event workqueue which runs in atomic context. The MAC address is already available in netdev->dev_addr, so no need to query hardware. This avoids the sleeping call and resolves the bug. CVE-2026-43053 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: close crash window in attr dabtree inactivation When inactivating an inode with node-format extended attributes, xfs_attr3_node_inactive() invalidates all child leaf/node blocks via xfs_trans_binval(), but intentionally does not remove the corresponding entries from their parent node blocks. The implicit assumption is that xfs_attr_inactive() will truncate the entire attr fork to zero extents afterwards, so log recovery will never reach the root node and follow those stale pointers. However, if a log shutdown occurs after the leaf/node block cancellations commit but before the attr bmap truncation commits, this assumption breaks. Recovery replays the attr bmap intact (the inode still has attr fork extents), but suppresses replay of all cancelled leaf/node blocks, maybe leaving them as stale data on disk. On the next mount, xlog_recover_process_iunlinks() retries inactivation and attempts to read the root node via the attr bmap. If the root node was not replayed, reading the unreplayed root block triggers a metadata verification failure immediately; if it was replayed, following its child pointers to unreplayed child blocks triggers the same failure: XFS (pmem0): Metadata corruption detected at xfs_da3_node_read_verify+0x53/0x220, xfs_da3_node block 0x78 XFS (pmem0): Unmount and run xfs_repair XFS (pmem0): First 128 bytes of corrupted metadata buffer: 00000000: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000030: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000040: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000050: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000060: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00000070: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ XFS (pmem0): metadata I/O error in "xfs_da_read_buf+0x104/0x190" at daddr 0x78 len 8 error 117 Fix this in two places: In xfs_attr3_node_inactive(), after calling xfs_trans_binval() on a child block, immediately remove the entry that references it from the parent node in the same transaction. This eliminates the window where the parent holds a pointer to a cancelled block. Once all children are removed, the now-empty root node is converted to a leaf block within the same transaction. This node-to-leaf conversion is necessary for crash safety. If the system shutdown after the empty node is written to the log but before the second-phase bmap truncation commits, log recovery will attempt to verify the root block on disk. xfs_da3_node_verify() does not permit a node block with count == 0; such a block will fail verification and trigger a metadata corruption shutdown. on the other hand, leaf blocks are allowed to have this transient state. In xfs_attr_inactive(), split the attr fork truncation into two explicit phases. First, truncate all extents beyond the root block (the child extents whose parent references have already been removed above). Second, invalidate the root block and truncate the attr bmap to zero in a single transaction. The two operations in the second phase must be atomic: as long as the attr bmap has any non-zero length, recovery can follow it to the root block, so the root block invalidation must commit together with the bmap-to-zero truncation.
CVE-2025-71225 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md: suspend array while updating raid_disks via sysfs In raid1_reshape(), freeze_array() is called before modifying the r1bio memory pool (conf->r1bio_pool) and conf->raid_disks, and unfreeze_array() is called after the update is completed. However, freeze_array() only waits until nr_sync_pending and (nr_pending - nr_queued) of all buckets reaches zero. When an I/O error occurs, nr_queued is increased and the corresponding r1bio is queued to either retry_list or bio_end_io_list. As a result, freeze_array() may unblock before these r1bios are released. This can lead to a situation where conf->raid_disks and the mempool have already been updated while queued r1bios, allocated with the old raid_disks value, are later released. Consequently, free_r1bio() may access memory out of bounds in put_all_bios() and release r1bios of the wrong size to the new mempool, potentially causing issues with the mempool as well. Since only normal I/O might increase nr_queued while an I/O error occurs, suspending the array avoids this issue. Note: Updating raid_disks via ioctl SET_ARRAY_INFO already suspends the array. Therefore, we suspend the array when updating raid_disks via sysfs to avoid this issue too.
CVE-2025-39927 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix race condition validating r_parent before applying state Add validation to ensure the cached parent directory inode matches the directory info in MDS replies. This prevents client-side race conditions where concurrent operations (e.g. rename) cause r_parent to become stale between request initiation and reply processing, which could lead to applying state changes to incorrect directory inodes. [ idryomov: folded a kerneldoc fixup and a follow-up fix from Alex to move CEPH_CAP_PIN reference when r_parent is updated: When the parent directory lock is not held, req->r_parent can become stale and is updated to point to the correct inode. However, the associated CEPH_CAP_PIN reference was not being adjusted. The CEPH_CAP_PIN is a reference on an inode that is tracked for accounting purposes. Moving this pin is important to keep the accounting balanced. When the pin was not moved from the old parent to the new one, it created two problems: The reference on the old, stale parent was never released, causing a reference leak. A reference for the new parent was never acquired, creating the risk of a reference underflow later in ceph_mdsc_release_request(). This patch corrects the logic by releasing the pin from the old parent and acquiring it for the new parent when r_parent is switched. This ensures reference accounting stays balanced. ]
CVE-2025-37906 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ublk: fix race between io_uring_cmd_complete_in_task and ublk_cancel_cmd ublk_cancel_cmd() calls io_uring_cmd_done() to complete uring_cmd, but we may have scheduled task work via io_uring_cmd_complete_in_task() for dispatching request, then kernel crash can be triggered. Fix it by not trying to canceling the command if ublk block request is started.

In addition, in order to not misrepresent caller of checkpoint, we should not allow to trigger async checkpoint for those callers: mount/umount/remount/ freeze/quotactl.
