| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: firewire: isight: bound the sample count to the packet payload
isight_packet() takes the frame count from the device iso packet and
checks it only against the device claimed iso length.
count = be32_to_cpu(payload->sample_count);
if (likely(count <= (length - 16) / 4))
isight_samples(isight, payload->samples, count);
length is the iso header data_length. It can be up to 0xffff. So the
gate allows a count up to about 16379. isight_samples() then copies
count frames out of payload->samples into the PCM DMA buffer.
payload->samples holds only 2 * MAX_FRAMES_PER_PACKET values. The
device multiplexes two samples per frame. A count past
MAX_FRAMES_PER_PACKET reads past the payload. A count past the buffer
size writes past runtime->dma_area. The smallest PCM buffer is larger
than MAX_FRAMES_PER_PACKET. Bounding the count to MAX_FRAMES_PER_PACKET
keeps both the read and the write in range.
A malicious or faulty Apple iSight on the FireWire bus reaches this
during a normal capture.
Add the MAX_FRAMES_PER_PACKET bound to the gate. |
| A vulnerability in the DMG file format parser of ClamAV could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a DoS condition, or possibly other expanded impacts, resulting from memory corruption on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to improper boundary checks for content in DMG files during scanning, which may result in an integer overflow on 32-bit platforms only. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted file that contains DMG content to be scanned by ClamAV on an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the ClamAV scanning process to terminate, resulting in a DoS condition on the affected software. |
| A vulnerability in the ALZ file format parser of ClamAV could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a DoS condition, or possibly other expanded impacts, resulting from memory corruption on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to improper boundary checks for content in ALZ files during scanning, which may result in an out-of-bounds buffer write. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted file that contains ALZ content to be scanned by ClamAV on an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the ClamAV scanning process to terminate, resulting in a DoS condition on the affected software. |
| A vulnerability in the FSG file format parser of ClamAV could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a DoS condition, or possibly other expanded impacts, resulting from memory corruption on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to improper boundary checks for content in FSG files during scanning, which may result in an out-of-bounds buffer write. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted file that contains portable executable content compressed with FSG to be scanned by ClamAV on an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the ClamAV scanning process to terminate, resulting in a DoS condition on the affected software. |
| DD-WRT version 45723 contains a buffer overflow vulnerability in the UPNP network discovery service that allows remote attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code. Attackers can send crafted M-SEARCH packets with oversized UUID payloads to trigger buffer overflow conditions on the target device. |
| ShareAlarmPro contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows attackers to crash the application by supplying an oversized registration key. Attackers can generate a 1000-character buffer payload to trigger an application crash when pasted into the registration key field. |
| Code Blocks 17.12 contains a local buffer overflow vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by crafting a malicious file name with Unicode characters. Attackers can trigger the vulnerability by pasting a specially crafted payload into the file name field during project creation, potentially executing system commands like calc.exe. |
| Mobatek MobaXterm 12.1 contains a structured exception handling (SEH) based buffer overflow vulnerability in the username field of session files that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. Attackers can craft a malicious MobaXterm sessions file with overflow data that triggers the vulnerability when imported and executed, enabling reverse shell execution with user privileges. |
| Flash Slideshow Maker Professional 5.20 contains a buffer overflow vulnerability in the registration dialog that allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code by exploiting structured exception handling. Attackers can craft a malicious payload and paste it into the Name and Code fields of the Help > Register dialog to trigger a reverse shell with system privileges. |
| libssh2 through 1.11.1, fixed in commit 42e33d8, contains a pre-authentication heap buffer overflow vulnerability that allows a malicious SSH server to corrupt heap metadata in any connecting client by sending a packet with a packet_length smaller than the cipher's block size during Encrypt-then-MAC cipher negotiation. In the fullpacket() function in src/transport.c, the ETM path allocates a buffer of packet_length bytes but copies blocksize minus one bytes via memcpy, causing an overflow that on 32-bit glibc writes attacker-controlled bytes into an adjacent chunk's SIZE field, enabling tcache bin confusion, overlapping live objects, and function pointer overwrite during the session handshake before authentication. |
| FFmpeg versions 8.0 through 8.1.2 contains a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the Vulkan HEVC hardware decoder that allows remote attackers to overwrite return addresses and adjacent stack frames by supplying a crafted HEVC/H.265 bitstream. Attackers can embed a malicious vps_num_hrd_parameters value exceeding HEVC_MAX_SUB_LAYERS in any supported container format to overflow stack-allocated arrays in the vk_hevc_end_frame function, potentially achieving arbitrary code execution. |
| Incorrect boundary conditions in the Audio/Video: Playback component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 153 and Thunderbird 153. |
| A Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow') vulnerability in SUSE Virtual Machine Driver Pack allows an attacker with the ability to modify the registry to affect the integrity of the driver. We're not aware of a feasible way to exploit this currently.
This issue affects Virtual Machine Driver Pack: before e7a602ec232756ead019bdf19d6d3b9d010cc94b. |
| A denial-of-service issue exists in 5380/5480/5580 controllers. This vulnerability could potentially allow a malicious user to write invalid file data to the controller, causing the device to enter a major non-recoverable fault (MNRF). |
| A denial-of-service issue exists in 5380/5480/5580 controllers boot firmware lower than version 1.072. This vulnerability could potentially allow a malicious user to write invalid file data to the controller, causing the device to enter a major non-recoverable fault (MNRF). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: hid-goodix-spi: validate report size to prevent stack buffer overflow
goodix_hid_set_raw_report() builds a protocol frame in a 128-byte stack
buffer (tmp_buf), writing an 11-12 byte header followed by the
caller-supplied report data. The HID core caps report size at
HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE (16384) by default, while the driver does not set
hid_ll_driver.max_buffer_size and performs no bounds checking before
copying the payload:
memcpy(tmp_buf + tx_len, buf, len);
A hidraw SET_REPORT ioctl with a report larger than ~116 bytes
overflows the stack buffer.
Add a size check after constructing the header, rejecting reports that
would exceed the buffer capacity.
Discovered by Atuin - Automated Vulnerability Discovery Engine. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iio: chemical: mhz19b: reject oversized serial replies
mhz19b_receive_buf() appends each serdev chunk into the fixed
MHZ19B_CMD_SIZE receive buffer and advances buf_idx by len without
checking that the chunk fits in the remaining space. A large callback
can therefore overflow st->buf before the command path validates the
reply.
Reset the reply state before each command and reject oversized serial
replies before copying them into the fixed buffer. When an oversized
reply is detected, wake the waiter and report -EMSGSIZE instead of
overwriting st->buf. |
