CVE-2026-80612 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-29 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: lwtunnel: Drop skb metadata before LWT encapsulation skb metadata is meant for passing information between XDP and TC. It lives in the skb headroom, immediately before skb->data. LWT programs cannot access the __sk_buff->data_meta pseudo-pointer to metadata. However, LWT encapsulation prepends outer headers, moving skb->data back over the headroom where the metadata sits. On an RX-originated (forwarded) packet that still carries XDP metadata this goes wrong in two different ways, depending on the encap type: 1. Non-BPF LWT encaps (mpls, seg6, ioam6 ...) call skb_push()/skb_pull() and silently overwrite the metadata that sits in the headroom. 2) BPF LWT xmit calls bpf_skb_change_head(), which uses skb_data_move(). That helper expects metadata immediately before skb->data. But since the IP output path runs LWT xmit before neighbour output has built the outgoing L2 header, for forwarded packets skb->data points at the L3 header while skb_mac_header() still points at the old L2 header. skb_data_move() sees metadata ending at skb_mac_header(), not before skb->data, warns and clears metadata: WARNING: CPU: 21 PID: 454557 at include/linux/skbuff.h:4609 skb_data_move+0x47/0x90 CPU: 21 UID: 0 PID: 454557 Comm: napi/iconduit-g Tainted: G O 6.18.21 #1 RIP: 0010:skb_data_move+0x47/0x90 Call Trace: <IRQ> bpf_skb_change_head+0xe6/0x1a0 bpf_prog_...+0x213/0x2e3 run_lwt_bpf.isra.0+0x1d3/0x360 bpf_xmit+0x46/0xe0 lwtunnel_xmit+0xa1/0xf0 ip_finish_output2+0x1e7/0x5e0 ip_output+0x63/0x100 __netif_receive_skb_one_core+0x85/0xa0 process_backlog+0x9c/0x150 __napi_poll+0x2b/0x190 net_rx_action+0x40b/0x7f0 handle_softirqs+0xd2/0x270 do_softirq+0x3f/0x60 </IRQ> That is what happens, as for how to fix it - a received packet that carries metadata can reach an encap through any of the three LWT redirect modes: LWTUNNEL_STATE_INPUT_REDIRECT ip6_rcv_finish dst_input lwtunnel_input LWTUNNEL_STATE_OUTPUT_REDIRECT ip6_rcv_finish dst_input ip6_forward ip6_forward_finish dst_output lwtunnel_output LWTUNNEL_STATE_XMIT_REDIRECT ip6_rcv_finish dst_input ip6_forward ip6_forward_finish dst_output ip6_output ip6_finish_output ip6_finish_output2 lwtunnel_xmit Every encap funnels through the three LWT dispatch helpers, so drop the metadata there, right before handing the skb to the encap op. This single chokepoint covers all encap types and all three redirect modes: - lwtunnel_input(): seg6, rpl, ila, seg6_local - lwtunnel_output(): ioam6 - lwtunnel_xmit(): mpls, LWT BPF xmit Alternatively, we could clear the metadata right after TC ingress hook. That would require a compromise, however. Metadata would become inaccessible from TC egress (in setups where it actually reaches the hook it tact, that is without any L2 tunnels on path).
CVE-2026-46369 1 Nimiq 1 Core-rs-albatross 2026-08-27 7.5 High
Nimiq is a Rust implementation of the Nimiq Proof-of-Stake protocol based on the Albatross consensus algorithm. Through 1.5.0, the validity store uses a strict lower-bound comparison that expires a stored transaction too early relative to Transaction::is_valid_at, allowing a remote attacker to replay the same signed transaction during a blocks_per_batch minus one block window and cause the sender and recipient balances to be updated twice. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.1.
CVE-2026-65927 1 Apache 1 Tomcat 2026-08-27 7.5 High
Off-by-one Error vulnerability in Apache Tomcat impacting the [N] flag on the rewrite valves causes rewrite processing to restart at the second rule rather than the first rule. This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.24, from 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.57, from 9.0.0.M1 through 9.0.120. The following versions were EOL at the time the CVE was created but are known to be affected: from 8.5.0 through 8.5.100. Other unsupported versions may also be affected. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.25, 10.1.58 or 9.0.121 which fix the issue.
CVE-2026-79148 1 Google 1 Chrome 2026-08-26 9.1 Critical
Off-by-one error in DevTools in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to potentially read memory inside the sandbox via a crafted Chrome extension. (Chromium security severity: Low)
CVE-2026-68767 1 Hashcat 1 Hashcat 2026-08-26 6.1 Medium
hashcat's fgetl() function in src/filehandling.c writes a null terminator one byte past the caller's buffer when an input line is exactly the buffer length. Attackers can trigger this out-of-bounds heap write by providing a hash file, potfile, or wordlist containing a line of exactly HCBUFSIZ_LARGE bytes.
CVE-2026-63387 1 Libevent Project 1 Libevent 2026-08-25 7 High
Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has an off-by-one stack buffer overflow in evdns.c when dnsname_to_labels formats a name-bearing DNS record at the end of the 64 KB stack buffer allocated by evdns_server_request_format_response. The final-label check permits j plus label_len plus one to equal buf_len, after which the terminating null byte is written to buf[buf_len]. A crafted DNS server response containing PTR, CNAME, MX, NS, or SOA data can trigger the one-byte out-of-bounds write and crash or corrupt the process. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha.
CVE-2026-58014 2 Gnome, Redhat 5 Glib, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 2 more 2026-08-25 7.3 High
A flaw was found in GLib. An off-by-one error can occur in the g_key_file_get_locale_string_list function in the gkeyfile.c file when loading a key file with an empty value. This flaw can cause an out-of-bounds access of 1 byte or a denial of service when the out-of-bounds access crosses a page boundary.
CVE-2026-42015 1 Redhat 14 Discovery, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 11 more 2026-08-25 5.3 Medium
A flaw was found in gnutls. An off-by-one error exists in the PKCS#12 bag element bounds check. This vulnerability allows an remote attacker to write past the internal array of a PKCS#12 bag when appending to a bag that already contains 32 elements. This memory corruption could lead to a denial of service (DoS) or potentially other unspecified impacts.
CVE-2026-55564 1 Freerdp 1 Freerdp 2026-08-25 5.4 Medium
FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to 3.27.0, the glyph_cache_get function in libfreerdp/cache/glyph.c checks whether index is greater than cache->number instead of greater than or equal to it. A malicious RDP server can use GLYPH_FRAGMENT_USE replay in update_process_glyph_fragments to make the default cache receive index 254 when cache->number is 254, reading one pointer beyond the entries array and dereferencing it as a glyph. This can crash the client and may disclose adjacent heap data. This issue is fixed in version 3.27.0.
CVE-2026-72339 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: qede: fix off-by-one in BD ring consumption on build_skb failure qede_rx_build_skb() and qede_tpa_rx_build_skb() do not check for a NULL return from qede_build_skb(). When it returns NULL under memory pressure, the functions still consume a BD from the ring before returning NULL. The callers then recycle additional BDs, resulting in one extra BD being consumed (off-by-one). This desynchronizes the BD ring, which can corrupt DMA page reference counts and lead to SLUB freelist corruption. Commit 4e910dbe3650 ("qede: confirm skb is allocated before using") added a NULL check inside qede_build_skb() to prevent a NULL pointer dereference, but did not address the missing NULL checks in the callers, making this off-by-one reachable. Fix this by adding NULL checks for the return value of qede_build_skb() in both qede_rx_build_skb() and qede_tpa_rx_build_skb(), returning NULL immediately before any BD ring manipulation.
CVE-2026-43964 1 Postfix 1 Postfix 2026-08-20 3.7 Low
Postfix before 3.8.16, 3.9 before 3.9.10, and 3.10 before 3.10.9 sometimes allows a buffer over-read and process crash via an enhanced status code that lacks text after the third number.
CVE-2026-68187 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-19 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: exec: fix unsigned loop counter wrap in transfer_args_to_stack() The stop value is derived from bprm->p >> PAGE_SHIFT. The index variable is an unsigned long. If bprm->p drops below PAGE_SIZE and stop becomes zero the loop condition index >= stop is always true. After the index == 0 iteration the decrement wraps to ULONG_MAX and bprm->page[ULONG_MAX] reads sizeof(void *) bytes in front of the array. The pointer has wrapped to -1. That garbage pointer is then passed to kmap_local_page() and PAGE_SIZE bytes are copied from wherever that lands into the stack of the process being created. And the loop doesn't terminate either... Getting there only requires bprm->p < PAGE_SIZE. On !MMU bprm_set_stack_limit() and bprm_hit_stack_limit() are empty. So the only constraint on how far bprm->p is pushed down is valid_arg_len(), i.e. that each individual string still fits in what is left. bprm->p starts at PAGE_SIZE * MAX_ARG_PAGES - sizeof(void *) so a single argument or environment string of a little over 31 pages leaves it in the first page: Oops - load access fault [#1] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 1 Comm: victim Not tainted 7.2.0-rc4 #1 epc : __memcpy+0xd4/0xf8 ra : transfer_args_to_stack+0xaa/0xae s4 : ffffffffffffffff s2 : 0000000000000000 a1 : ffffffdc98000000 a2 : 0000000000001000 status: 0000000a00001880 badaddr: ffffffdc98000000 cause: 0000000000000005 [<801a5324>] __memcpy+0xd4/0xf8 [<800d5f6a>] load_flat_binary+0x43a/0x65e [<800a2de4>] bprm_execve+0x1d4/0x316 [<800a351a>] do_execveat_common+0x12e/0x138 [<800a3d44>] __riscv_sys_execve+0x38/0x4e Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt This is an arcane bug but we should still fix it. Count down from MAX_ARG_PAGES so the loop ends when index reaches stop, stop == 0 included. The iterations performed are unchanged for every other value of stop. Only CONFIG_MMU=n builds are affected, transfer_args_to_stack() is used by binfmt_flat and binfmt_elf_fdpic on nommu only. The loop predates git history. commit 7e7ec6a93434 ("elf_fdpic_transfer_args_to_stack(): make it generic") only moved it from binfmt_elf_fdpic.c into fs/exec.c and narrowed the copy to the used part of the first page. The condition and the decrement are unchanged from 2.6.12-rc2.
CVE-2026-72345 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: LAG, Fix off-by-one in single-FDB error rollback On failure at index i, the reverse cleanup loop in mlx5_lag_create_single_fdb() starts from i, so the failed index itself is rolled back. That can operate on uninitialized state or double-tear-down a rule the add_one path already self-rolled-back. Start the rollback from i - 1 so only successfully-installed entries are undone.
CVE-2026-66806 2 Microsoft, Redhat 7 365 Apps, Office 2019, Office 2021 and 4 more 2026-08-14 5.5 Medium
Off-by-one error in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information locally.
CVE-2026-53309 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2/dlm: fix off-by-one in dlm_match_regions() region comparison The local-vs-remote region comparison loop uses '<=' instead of '<', causing it to read one entry past the valid range of qr_regions. The other loops in the same function correctly use '<'. Fix the loop condition to use '<' for consistency and correctness.
CVE-2026-14899 1 Mozilla 1 Thunderbird 2026-08-12 7.5 High
The code to parse MIME headers for display when forwarding a message (if the setting to view all headers was enabled) had an off-by-one error, allowing a single byte to be read from the memory after the buffer for the headers, and potentially crashing Thunderbird. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 153 and Thunderbird 140.13.
CVE-2026-71391 1 Gnu 1 Emacs 2026-08-10 3.3 Low
GNU Emacs for Android contains an off-by-one error in the gvar table parser in src/sfnt.c. The shared-coordinate index boundary check in sfnt_vary_simple_glyph() and sfnt_vary_compound_glyph() uses a strict greater-than comparison instead of greater-than-or-equal, allowing a crafted TrueType variable font to bypass the check and trigger a heap-based out-of-bounds read via memcpy. An attacker can deliver a malicious font file via email, EWW (Emacs Web Wowser), or documents with custom faces, causing Emacs to load it. This exposes heap memory contents which can be later used to defeat ASLR. This issue was fixed in commit 95ab9ef627b212d74d321c5bbb5b56a1be7b9fbe
CVE-2026-54410 1 Debevv 1 Nanomodbus 2026-08-10 8.6 High
nanoMODBUS through v1.23.0 contains an off-by-one buffer overflow in the recv_msg_header function of the Modbus/TCP server that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to write one attacker-controlled byte past the end of the 260-byte receive buffer by sending a crafted MBAP frame whose Length field is set to 255.
CVE-2024-56720 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High
